Default Loudmouth muffler with stock exhaust

So I got a bud who found a brand new loudmouth muffler in his storage today. Said he would sell it to me for 50 bux. I've heard it's a pain to install to a stock system. Thoughts? From what I can see it seems like the exhaust shop will charge me a fortune to install it as it isn't a regular 1 in 2 out muffler...

Can you elaborate on what you are trying to do? My buddy installed an LM1 but had to remove the stock muffler and the muffler shop made a Y pipe. Something like this:

Is that what you are going for? If I remember the shop charged around $150-$200 to make that Y

That's exactly what I'm talking about. Seems like it will be the same price to do a QTP cutout setup.

In my humble opinion there are better exhaust set ups. I have a borla catback but have been wanting to try that new Texas speed car back with the cutout towards the middle:

Obviously the best set up is True duals.

That would be awesome. Problem is, I'm on a tight budget I'm looking for the cheapest way good sound but nothing that will make me deaf on 30 mile hwy commutes.

My suggestion is keep it stock until you can get a better system. The LM1 by itself has a lot of rasp and is really loud.

You can get a direct fit Hooker Aerochamber or Magnaflow replacement for the stock muffler. Each one is quiet and will flow considerably better than the stocker. And they're not expensive.

I can sell you a Hooker Aerochamber muffler that has some surface rust and some loose rust inside but works perfectly, I didn't know about the internal sediment until I removed the muffler.

I'll sell it to you for $40 + shipping.

PM me if interested.

People still run the LM stuff? Don't torture yourself like that and get a proper sounding cat back.

I found an LM1 catback locally new, the price was too good to pass up. It's a stainless 3" which appealed to me. Unfortunately, it is so loud and obnoxious I don't enjoy driving it as much. I agree with Detoxx. I will be swapping in a Magnaflow or Dynomax bullet in place.

I had swapped a borla xr1 on mine and it was still loud. When SLP came out with the powerflo setup it sounded much better.
