Fast intakes are just plain noisy in general compared to the factory stuff. I missed the part where the intake was cracked. Did you buy it that way or did you bolt it up with the factory valley cover bolts in place and crack it?

No, the intake was perfect when I bought it. The popping sound happened after I had already replaced the valley cover bolts. I had the intake seated on the heads, had already began tightening down the intake bolts, and the 3rd bolt on the passenger side made a loud pop when I was tightening it down.

Did you follow the TQ instructions from fast? They have the order of tightening them down.

I had glanced at the torque instructions, but I did not follow them 100%. I tried to start in the middle and work my way outward, switching sides between bolts. I think the issue was I tightened that particular bolt down too much and didn't tighten the rest down near that much. It was my own fault. I'm going to see how it runs and see if we have issues with tuning, and if not, then all is good. If we do and suspect it's the intake, I'll pull it and epoxy where it's needed.

Yea you want to just barely tighten them all, then go back through and TQ in sequence. I just used the factory sequence. The fast intake bolts like to loosen up too. I have had to retighten them 3-4 times in 2 yrs.

So what bolts do I need to bolt the TB to the FAST intake? There are no threads in the bolt holes on the intake.

That is quite odd. The three fast intakes I have installed all had threaded holes

Yeah, no threads at all, inake or TB. Guess I'll need shorter bolts that I can put a nut on and install that way.

For a mild build it's hard to beat the BBK, that thing is unbreakable.

Has anyone else had a FAST intake without threaded holes for the TB?

The fast 90 didn't have threaded inserts for the TB. You'll have to run nuts and bolts. That was the main upgrade on the 92.

Nightmarish.

Also, blue loctite the intake bolts. They do back out. And it sucks *** when you're in traffic and the intake springs a vacuum leak.

Or use the stock bolts as I was told they tend to stay tight...I just like the looks of the Fast ones better so I stuck with them.

For the amount of time it takes to pull the intake off why not take a peak at it?

Last thing I need to get it all buttoned back up. Any idea where I can get this metal tube hose coupler at? Is it something I can find at Advance Auto, Autozone, O'Reily's, etc.?

I got mine at autozone. Not sure it's the same diameter as the one in the link. I'll take a look at the box when I get home from work.
