Neanderthal Carb Guy BS Thread

Well boys, my 94 met it's fate. The car never felt like others on slicks. Even when the alignment was done. Was shutting down from a little acceleration on the street with the ET drags. *** end shot out. Went though the median.

sorry to hear that, never fun when you just get your car going and that happens. good luck.

The car constantly needed correction driving in a straight line. I should have parked it and tried to figure out what to do. But I have had cars feel funny on slicks before, so went cruising instead. Went to let a friend from the right lane in to my lane at 70 or so, hit the brakes and tried to steer to the lane to my left, the car went hard 90* to the driver side and in to the median.

never! kick him when he's down...
nah, zane and I were texting back and forth about it this morning before I posted. I verified everyone was fine and zane has a good sense of humor. I wouldn't bust ***** so quickly to anyone I didn't know. the pics aren't horrible. knowing zane, he will have it back on the road in a week.

Already got the vultures asking about part outs. Lol
Steve, if I had to guess at this point, a new core support, new K member, new fender and nose with head lamps and wiring them, it may be fixable. I'd bet I could find a new chassis that wasn't fucked it for less and come out ahead. We will see how I goes. Engine and trans are going in to a car that is 600 pounds lighter. F that heavy turd. Lol

My buddy that wa ms riding with me thinks that the left side toe rod came apart. I wondered this myself since it was so fast. It was as if I yanked the wheel left. Makes me wonder.

Hey Zones, glad to hear your okay. Don't want to be the big bummer here. But maybe you should think about some safety equiment in the next one. Going in the meadian like that could have made you roll very easy. Having a friend with you may have not turned out good at all. I have a friend that got into an accident and killed his best friend in the passengers seat. Not only is he crushed about his best friend. He is now spending the next ten years in prison for manslaughter. Because it was deemed that they were drag racing. Also I have seen cars do what you are talking about at high speed, when you have a bigger gear, and snap your foot off the throttle real fast. Causes the tires to lock up briefly from lash, and put you into a slide. You see this happen all the time at the track when the cars get out of shape at the big end, unless the trans is set up not to engine brake. Sorry dude. Not trying to bust your ***** at all. Just concerned, that's all. Best of Luck.

sorry to hear how it happened, mine did the same thing, I thought I broke something in my suspension. On slicks and I goosed it a little and hit a bump and it unloaded the suspension and made me go hard left. I do have a spool, I think when it unloaded the slick grabbed on 1 side and turned the car hard. It's been fixed, and lucky I never cut out the side crash beam in the doors or what ever it's called. Plus back then I had a harness bar that saved it more from being pushed in.

oh yes, the rear tires on my car are usually tucked, to give you an idea how hard it was pushed in. Wasn't worth fixing but the car had sentimental value so it was fixed $$$
