I have a friend that got into an accident and killed his best friend in the passengers seat. Not only is he crushed about his best friend. He is now spending the next ten years in prison for manslaughter. Because it was deemed that they were drag racing. Also I have seen cars do what you are talking about at high speed, when you have a bigger gear, and snap your foot off the throttle real fast. Causes the tires to lock up briefly from lash, and put you into a slide. You see this happen all the time at the track when the cars get out of shape at the big end, unless the trans is set up not to engine brake. Sorry dude. Not trying to bust your ***** at all. Just concerned, that's all. Best of Luck.

Preaching to the choir man. All things I have thought about.

Down side to safety equipment like the roll bar, I have seen guys on the street get killed from their head smacking in to the tubular steel

Cannot be sure what happened but it was out of my control once I tapped the brakes to scrub a little speed.

Car that the engine is going in has a 6 point roll bar. I'll get some harnesses ASAP because the 3 point would have caused me some left side rib bruises if the car had a 6 point in it.

Put some of the real good roll bar padding anywhere your body can touch. You should think about a full cage. You won't believe how much better your car will work.

I have not had a car not work without a roll bar. But, I got the 89 to replace the 80 coupe because it has a 6 point and other upgrades.

it's not that it won't work, it will just work better. every adjustment made has much better results, and things like tires and shocks don't take near the beating.

Again, preaching to the choir. These are things I know. But I also know they are not a must have to get the car down the strip. Hell, the 80 had only adjustable uppers and it got down damn good for being a POS fox, but I knew if I rolled it in some unfortunate turn of events, the roof may crush in on me. Instead of adding a roll bar, finding the 89 with a roll bar and slap full of other upgrades for the right price was a much better deal. Less rust too. Lol

Now if I didn't have so many vehicles I would put more in to one.

that's why i only have the one car (i have another, but it never sees any attention...poor chevelle).

after this round of updates, i'm thinking i want to enjoy this car for a few seasons without many changes, and get it dialed in. i would really like to put together a dd version of the car. basically a bolt-on ls (probably 5.3) with a t56. i'd like a ttop car truthfully.

would love to see you get away from the fox bodies and back into a thirdgen.

I hear that. I don't like the leaky T tops. Hard too when I can.

But, you should know by now, I would have been *** hurt if I just wrecked my 2002 SS or a third gen. Right now, I could hardly care. Just glad the engine and trans is good. Mustangs are disposable and cheap. Good third gens not so much. Still have the 86 TA though.

Let me tell you, when you spend your weekends watching guys run 3 seconds, everything else looks slow.

Well, I can say that I have been so busy at the shop, my co operator and I had to get a second lift. Zero regrets. I am tempted to quit my 9-5 but not till I'm debt free.

Man Zones, I love your shop. I have one that's 40 x 63 that is all wood frame. Yours just looks so good, built out of steel. How big was that again? I was going to get another lift too. But ended up getting a tire machine and spin balancer instead. Still working on another lift. Floor jacks and jack stands for now if the lift is tied up. You might want to consider doing tires yourself. Decent money to be made. Helps fill in the gaps. Plus is just awesome to have for personal use. You can talk to a distributor and get tires wholesale. Mickey Thompson, Goodyear, Hoosier, Nito. Decent money there too. Your Stickers look killer. Great Idea.

i made a parachute mount for one of my customers today. mine is the one on top that has the extra brace to resist twisting that would be introduced by the trailer by tying the tube into the back wall. his is strictly a chute mount and is on the bottom. i did not put this brace on his. i may make a few more of these as it seems there's a little interest there.

also notched a k-member sunday for another customer. this is for an ls swap and he wanted the extra room for piece of mind.

Thanks man! It is 40x60, butnlooking to expand the back 30 foot out to the left another 40 foot this year. And yes, wheel and tire machines are another thing on the to do list for sure. It is easy money and all day for personal use. We need a 4 post as well.

Yes sir. I really wish you could step your game up. You are potentially losing out in many ways. But I am not finding time to work on my own rides at the moment. So there is a down side. But making money is not a bad thing over my own toys. Lol

Any chance the customer could have brought the rolling chassis and let you section the center and place a single tube after boxing both sides? That's something we have done with a lot of rides. Sheds a little weight and gains some room.

When do we get to see the chute mount mocked on a car? They looks great!
