Just curious, does this v belong to any members on here? Seen it come in today at the auction i work at. 06 with a magnaflow catback, and the driver side wheels the spokes are painted black, cars dirty as hell and deff wasnt cared for lol
Oh look, another POS-V. Interesting spoke treatment on those wheels. I wouldn't do it myself, but it's better looking than I thought it would be from the description.
They made the base cts with a door panel that is a combination of beige with black inserts just like the v1 gray interiors and I think it would look pretty slick with a set of those....but solid black against the beige looks cheap imho.
I dont know how id like the tan panels, id probly have to see them in person, heres how mine looks and i love it, but i wouldnt mind black carpet though, that dead pedal spot is a bitch to keep clean
I might grab them v mats and try to clean them with degreaser and pressure wash them and see how they look, since the detailers will just throw them away anyways lol
Ok ill check into it, thanks . do you clean your engine bay with that as well and is it safe for aluminum?
It's strongly alkaline, which means that it does an incredible job dissolving organic solids and greases. Try it out on your stovetop after cooking and I think you'll throw away whatever you normally. Just be careful as it will irritate your sinuses if you breathe it in. It leaves virtually no trace, but for stuff that requires surgical cleanliness, I'll typically finish with a 50/50 mix of 91% IPA and distilled water. It's fine on paint and metals but I wouldn't go spraying it everywhere in the engine bay all the time. It's really strong, and you can probably get away with Griot's Garage 1158 engine cleaner once you're washing your car regularly.
For removing brake dust from wheels, NOTHING beats Iron-X but Adam's Deep Wheel Cleaner is a very close second (90-95% as effective) at 1/3 the price. Iron-X = $147/gallon and Adam's = $60/gallon. Even if you remove your wheels prior to cleaning, you'll get a TON of use out of Wheel Woolies Power Woolie 12X drill brush. It has flagged ends so that you don't scratch your wheels. Some people also use it to clean and polish their exhaust pipes but I don't want to risk contaminating mine.

I've used 7 competing products and none of them are equivalent to POR-15 degreaser. Spray Nine, Simple Green, Simple Green HD, Purple Power, Tuff Stuff, Oil Eater, Chemical Guys... the only one I haven't tried is Meguiar's D10801. All of the products I just mentioned are within ±$10 of POR-15 degreaser in the gallon size. If you have a suggestion, I'm all ears.

Mike, try POR-15 cleaner degreaser in a spray bottle. This stuff alongside IPA+distilled water has replaced almost all of my household cleaning supplies.
I don't know about their degreaser, but POR-15 is the ****!
I've undercoated every Jeep I've had with it, and recently did my Tahoe.

Just don't get any on your skin!
Agree. I painted the underbody of my V1 with POR-15 after SevillianSTS posted pictures of his underbody paint job. By the way, their newer Top Coat spray basically does all the things that the original paint does, but much faster and easier. I've used it to paint a bunch of V1 parts, including the transmission crossbrace, shift linkage, and pedal box parts.
