GM muscle car oil pan
Does the GM muscle car oil pan work well? I'm not looking to lower my car to the ground. The GM is 8" deep, the Holley is 5.46" deep and the BRP is 7.5". Looking at all 3 however the Holley doesnt come as a complete kit like the others and requires GM parts etc. My car is a 67 Firebird Covert. Installing an L33, 4L60e eventually.

No, it hangs dangerously low ( I had it in my car ). The f body pan would need to be notched for a first gen. My f body pan is notched only because my engine sits just a bit forward and the pan would be real close to crossmember. I can pm you who notched my pain and lengthened the pickup tube. If you are set on using the muscle car (LH8/hummer H3), I'd build something around it to protect it.
You may want to also look at the cts-v pan. It hangs a little lower than the fbody but not as much as the LH8/H3/muscle car pan.

The Holley pan is available either alone or with all the goodies mentioned above. There is a choice...

I forgot about the Holley pans. They were not available when I swapped my pans. I had the fbody pan, I just paid to have it notched. Looking at the 2 Holley pan dimensions (302-1 302-2), both would have cleared my crossmember. Holley has done some great things for the LS swap people the last few years.

Have you considered an aftermarket subframe? I know it is a lot of coin, but it allows you to use the 4th Gen Fbody oil pan, front drive and stock AC compressor location. It also lets you upgrade your brakes. Installation is pretty easy and lets you get to areas of the body for rust repair that are usually covered. GIve it a thought.

Do you have a release date for the 302-3 oil pan? Sometime within 6 months will work very well with my next swap.
