Hey guys long story short I got a hole in my radiator and the one I bought 4 years ago is no longer available. I ended up going with a nice aluminum Griffin with 16" fans made for an LS swap. Only problem is the fan is only an inch or so from the driver side crossover piping. I might be able to modify the radiator support to get another 1/2" or so. Do you think this will be an issue? The piping is wrapped with DEI lava wrap. I was thinking I could add the DEI heat shield for extra protection. Any thoughts?
I'm going to see if I can get a little more room out of it somehow.
I would make a heat shield for it as I had a fan go out on mine during Dragweek last year by being that close. Dont know if you will be driving couple hours at a time steady at 50mph but after I made the shield it solved that problem.

The truck is just a weekend cruiser. The crossover runs below the fan motor. I was worried more about the fan housing melting. I've got a little more then a finger gap now that it's mounted.

I could use my old shroud and fans with the Griffin radiator but I have a question. They sell the same unit without the fans. One problem it's about an inch short on both sides of the core and sits about a 3/8 of an inch off of the core. Do you think this will work? I was told the shroud should cover the entire core.
I’d be more concerned with it not being sealed to the core rather than not covering the entire core. Get some sort of rubber seal to seal the shroud to the core and run it.
