Default Preliminary Dyno Results from LSX Intake - Courtesy of MTI!

Inital Results: 7.4 HP gain over an LS6 Intake on a 427 CID F-Body.

This was the 78MM version with ported stock TB, bolted on with no changes to tuning or anything else on the vehicle.

We'll continue the fine tuning this afternoon and post more results as we generate then.

How much less would that be on a 346 LS1? Those results seem pretty disappointing to me for the cost.

Weird, we have one thread where it picked up 13 RWHP on a stock heads/mild cam car and another where it only picked up 7 RWHP on a big CI engine.

We chose to test the 78mm version first as we're waiting on the 90mm TB to be released.

Thanks.

I'm betting the throttle body size is the main restriction on the big 427ci engine. Also, this 427ci engine has a relatively small 236/236 cam in it.

Jayson tells me they'll be trying out some larger TBs (I volunteered a BBK I have laying around there somewhere) to wring some more HP out of this intake.

I'll cancel my order if that's all it provides on a 427 after all the bugs/TBs are utilized, etc.

7.4 hp is very disapointing. Especially on that motor. I would have expected that from a stock motor and the more power the more hp is gained. Maybe this will drive down prices!

I agree with tony. big motors take alot of air and I'm betting that the TB is a large restriction at that point. For small CID cars with ported heads you see a massive flow drop in the intake ports once you bolt on a LS6 intake. if some of this flow is restored with the LSX intake, power gains can be exceptional (if the TB doesn't pose a restriction yet)

It may only be 7.4, but it was also said that there were no changes to tuning. I wonder what that would change to with the 90mm TB and having it tuned for that intake?

I think to be truly fair to FAST, on a motor like this is to use the 90mm TB version AND port match the intake to the intake port of the head, I am sure they need it!!! then get some numbers for us!
