Default *** WARNING - StopTech/Centric Stainless Steel Brake Hoses *** Read first

It appears that StopTech/Centric has recently come out with stainless steel brake hoses. These are sold without instructions other than to torque the banjo bolts to factory specs.

However; it is very important to change the orientation of the hose on the caliper to avoid serious damage and complications when installing these hoses. They cannot be installed in the stock orientation, aligned to the recess in the back of the caliper, due to the thickness of the hose body around the attachment block. The hoses must come off the caliper at an angle so the thicker, black rubber/plastic hose body is not in contact with the caliper. (If the body touches the caliper, the attachment block will not sit flush on the caliper, will not seal, and will not allow the banjo bolt to go into the caliper straight.)

See these threads for complications if the hose is installed in the stock orientation:

Is this a recent issue? Ive been running stoptech hoses for well over 2 years now without a single issue or leak.

It's only an issue if you put them on in the exact same orientation as the stock hoses. If they are turned 15-30 or more degrees; then there is no problem.

Do you have pictures? I don't know if the '95 has the same PBR brakes as my '99 did but the problem was the machined lip on the fitting the banjo bolt goes through. It contacted the surface of the caliper and was preventing the copper washer from crushing correctly. I had to turn the fitting so the lip on the hose didn't touch the caliper.

This is where it comes off on my 95, when we try to attach it to the caliper the turm radius goes to crap and would potentially snap the lines

Those definitely look short. What brand and part number are you using?
