Default what tranny to run 9s?

i have i have a stock 4L60E what do i need to do to it to run 9s or should i just get a power glide?

What is/will be your set-up. All about power. Some run 9's and quicker with all different trannys. Also, converters are important. N/A, nitrous, force induction. All different, but still all the same.

Mine: T-400 - not stock

what should i do to it to take the abuse also would a 3600 stall vig be ok?

yes but a couple stupid mods MIGHT be needed to fit the car physically like BIGF*HAMMER, and also computer-wise you would have to get it to work with your stock computer as it does not recognize the 4L80e the same. They are worth it because its like having a bulletproof 4L60e just better. Stock one will probably handle 600-700hp easy and built ive heard and seen over 1000hp. All that and you still keep overdrive which is good for highway. The bad thing is that you have to get the electronics worked out and that they supposedly weigh alittle more than the 4L60e. But nothing major. hope this helps
