Just got back from the track, my buddy Brian went 9.60's on motor in his 72 Nova, of other friend Paul had his daughter drive his Blown Chevelle drag radial car, she went 9.40's with the boost WAY down, his car will make 1400-1500 hp.

Kelly was with Team Racing for this event out of Arizona he came out to race with us and he went went 6.56@216

It was pretty fun. Here are some photos.

Yeah I'd like if the nova went faster, but my buddy for whatever reason doesn't even want to try to lean on it. All I know is 9.60's with a 300# plus fat guy driving on the motor that car would fly with a smaller guy and a good hit of nitrous lol.

I'm happy though, it was leaving funky before and we got it to leave like it was on rails and stay 100% straight in the burnout box so he was pretty happy. We were just having fun, not trying to set the world on fire. Our friend paul lets his 18yr old daughter drive his drag radial car now and she's getting used to it, not a bad starter car, has gone low 8's with the boost up on a drag radial.

I got a couple videos but they don't have sound, took them on my digital camera.

I don't know whats the deal, camera has a video mode but it didn't have sound wtf. It runs great considering the driver is 326 pounds without gear on lol. With a twig driving the thing would go .3 faster.

Here is a pic of my buddy 2nd from the right big tall guy. Without driver the car was 2614 with a full 8 gallon tank of gas, it's about 2950 race weight.

When you heading to the track? I might buy this 4th gen formula, my chic wants a little racer now that she went with me to the track and saw a buddies car go 6's lol.

Oh I got the line on a bender, buying it from a guy on here, JD2 model 3

pretty good piece, and the whole bending thing takes some time to get used to. I think a couple of places sell plans too, but you will get a pretty good idea what you need from the sfi sheets. I use a exhaust bender dial to make sure the tube is straight when doing a second bend (like main hoops..) that way the thing doesnt turn to scrap lol, but you can get a small twist out if needed

I went to the track 2 weeks ago, and the class i am in, the fastest car runs 5.30 1/8ths.....I wound up running him in the semis, so being geared for a real track i was in trouble any way so i turned that bitch all the way up on the 225 shot and let it fly, got beat by maybe a car and a half, this friday i am throwin some bigger jets in the plate to see what happens.
I have been working on a cart for the track to hold the genarator and fuel/nitrous bottles and a cooler, should be a cool piece when its done

Bigger jets? You need to throw the 2nd stage on it Looks like I am going to buy that 98 formula if the deal goes through, won't have the money till early next month though so we'll see.

So I'll be doing two projects at once lol. If I don't sell my LS1 I'll toss it in the formula, then once the're both done I'll set my chic out 400 feet then blow past her like she hit the brakes

So when are you cutting yours up and putting some boost in it?

I know some one from the other forum that is making a system for EFI that he says uses a yukon flex fuel module so you can run meth, E-85 or race gas. Says it'll run about $1,500 complete.

He is one of the guys that hangs out with some of my friends from team racing and they do some work with Rich Head out here in my county in California.

They made a really nice small twin turbo set up on a mustang that is hidden under the car by the transmission, can't even see it from the engine compartment, just looks like a cold air kit and that's it.

damn, so much for 2 toys lol.
I hit it with 275 @ 50% out of the hole today, holy crap..I was sideways as hell comming out , must have scared the hell out of the starter, but i was still pulling gears, I dont think i took a breath untill i parked the car, turned it down for round 2 get the fastest guy in the class, since all the other cars let him go by for some reason, fox body mustang, 421 with 2 kits, 225 and 275, he hit # 2 when i was not falling back lept out some then boom, hood filled with flames, guess i made him use his junk up lol, he pushed a head gasket out, i stopped to check

LOL that's cool, I used to go 250 out of the hole 100% no progressive stuff right off the transbrake on a 33x16.5 slick and 4.86 gear. My best 60 was a 1.31 with the back tires.

I can't wait to feel what it is like to run a 1.1 or 1.0 that would be awesome. Someday.......

I will have to take it to a real track soon, just to see how it works with the new gear, I am thinking 8's should not be a problem

you can actually feel the difference between mid 1.3, and mid 1.2's so even lower would be cool, i might do a 4.56 gear just to see if i can fake some 1 teens or lower we will see though

I'm going to get a MW 3.5" c-moly steel shaft, it'll break a solid u-joint before it twists the shaft

Bender is coming soon, time to get some metal and the tube notcher and start on my frame
