Default I have a question about chevy and ford

How would someone go about putting a 350 into a 70 fast back 302, is there anything to know besides motor mounts? Would it be better to put it in with a th350 or could a c4 be bolted on?

Negative, the 4l60 is electronic, started in 93 i believe, maybe 92 in the vette. The only down side ot a 700R4 is the lack of lock up without a computer or lockup solenoid to make it function, it is not requirement but it helps economy a bit.

a th350 would prolly fit fine but the 700r4 is a bit larger towards the back and a little longer too, so i'm not real sure on it but shouldn't take much to fit it in.

thanks again, have you guys ever heard of anyone puting an SBC in a 69/70 mach 1 or fast back? Cuz my friend's overall goal is to save money with a SBC over a ford engine, do you guys think its the right way to go vs. ford?

for price, you can't beat the sbc. i have never personally seen that setup in those models because most people around here are more into restoring those models.

yea my friend wants a 351 cleveland, but cant afford it. He has the 302, so im telling him to just get a 347 stroker. But he insists that its VIN is a Mach 1 351 cleveland, but he's a liar and i dont care if he's reading this. His brother already told me the VIN says its a 302 fast back. And he just wants more c.i. so he wants an SBC 350, or 383. Do you guys think a 347 is an ok motor?

The 700R4 is the same length as a TH350 long tail.

i was talking about the drum area is larger towards the rear for the extra components of the 700r4, not the overall length.
