They are not interchangeable for the given block. A 1 piece has an adapter that bolts to the back of the block, a 2 piece the seal goes in the rear main.

Yeah, the cranks are not interchangeable. The one piece seal block has less chances of leaks in comparison to a two piece block.

One piece block is the way to go. I've always ran them and they need less grinding if your putting a stroker crank in it. Try to get an 880 block they are very strong.

There actually is an adapter to put a two piece rear main seal crank in a one piece block but that is besides the point and seems kinda pointless.

If you are starting from scratch the number one thing you have to think about is machining and clearancing the block. It can get very expensive quickly. With splaid caps and a race prepped block I spent nearly 1100 bucks on my block with hardware.

However GMPP offers a one piece rear main seal 4bolt 350 880 casting block that is bored .030 and is clearanced for a 3.75 stroke with hbeam rods. Its less than 700 bucks ready to wash and assemble.

Hi. I am assembling another 383 stroker. Can't seem to find a decent block. I already have the rotating assembly. You describe a GMPP stroker block for around 700 dollars. I try going on their different Web sites and all I can seem to find are short blocks or complete engines. I just need a pre 1986 block preferably already machined. Any help? Thank you

I had one of those blocks in the shop it was not plate honed, Had Chinese center caps that I changed out and went to splayed caps, Was not zero decked and when the block was decked it not square.
