Default What needs to been done for LT1 heads to fit on gen1

so i have a gen 1 350... i want to use LT1 aluminum heads on it bc I can get them at the junk yard CHEAP or even on CL. Its been hard to fine alum L98s. What needs to be done to the lt1 heads to fit and WHY? I don't care about going to buy the right heads bc i have some brodix t1 heads laying around that i want to re use when my stroker gets rebuild.

SO since no one can simply answer the question without bs why i shouldn't waste my time... i want to do it just to do it. PERIOD. I have the heads laying around and have a shop at my disposal... i don't care if it takes me 10 hours of labor... just simply... what do I need to do to stick these alum LT1 heads on my 1970s 350 motor.

Use a vortec iron head. If you want aluminum, find some used heads elsewhere. Many LT1 guys mod gen I sbc heads to work on their gen II.

With the search function you can. It will be said time and time again, by the time you have someone machine all the required passages, you will be better off with starting at a set of pro comp heads or other castings that are sbc specific.

I think what they're getting at is it would be much more simple to run some ported vortechs. Or even some unported ones. They are a damn good head. But if your set on lt1s I'm not gonna stop ya lol. More power to ya

I think the only thing is 4 coolant holes that need plugged. I remember seeing someone on thirdgen.org doing this. The benefit is they can be ported further than vortecs, and are lighter. I would bet if you google Lt1 heads on gen 1 block you will find a few threads.

You have to figure out how to get coolant through the heads to the intake.

Just LS swap it and be done. Lol
