1) How much will this effect my power disc brakes? ( i have a vacuum reserve canister)
2) should i go with a different cc on the heads

depends on how much vacuum your engine makes in the end. A lower compression motor with that cam would have very little vacuum. A stout higher compression engine would have more to work with.

You are going to have very little vacuum with that camshaft and a lopey idle. Do you already have that cam or are you open to suggestions for better cams?
To answer your question though... yes it will work with the canister.

For what its worth, I would not use the comp 292, or any of the other Magnum grinds, as they are a 20 year old design. You can get a Comp XE cam or a Voodoo cam from Lunati, and make alot more power...If you want to run a large duration cam, and do more racing I would go with a solid lifter version hands down..Hydraulic lifter cams don't make as much power in an engine spinning 6500rpm.
Good luck with whatever you chose to do.

Or Lunati Voodoo 60103- 227/233 .489/.504 or 60104 233/241 .504/.525
In my 74 Nova with the 350(similiar to yours) i am using a cam similar to the XE 268...It is a great streep/strip cam that has a nice lopey idle without being too aggressive and works great with power brakes. It pulls hard to 6200 or so and is ablast to drive... great for everyday driving and will pull high 12's in the 1/4 with a th350 and 4.10's
If it was my engine i was building i would probably go with the Voodoo 60103..slightly bigger than the comp and has more lift...
