Default nitrous 350 or LS1???

thinking of building a 350 with nitrous or putting a ls1 into a 1981 long bed. Trying to get into the low 11s. Which would be best for this.

Are you going with an iron block ls1 or aluminum. It's hard to say, the sbc 350's are alot cheaper to build then a Gen 3 motor, but then again the gen 3's produce better power I feel.

I vote for the technology of the Gen III/IV's. They are so easy to make HP with.

Depends how much money you wanna spend......you can build a nitrous ready sbc for WAAAAY less $$$ than an lsx.

Yeah but you have to "rent" your HP. What if your bottle is emty or heaven forbid your N2O solenoid quits working mysteriously? (I don't know how many times this has happened to me and my freinds.) Plus with haveing to run that much n2o how long are your rings going to last?

Not trying to be a jerk or anything like that, just giving my expeirences with n2o. N2O is ALOT of fun but the damn solenoids are so damn finicky. Got tiried of carrying 2-3 "spares" at the race track.

well I was actually thinking of H/C and N20 on the 350 and maybe the same on the Ls1, so the engines would make good power off the bottle.

I wanted to go with the technology of the LS1 since I can get ahold of one for 3200 with tranny but dont know what is needed to get it in the truck.

For what it's gonna cost you to get an LS1 + all the elec's, you could be VERY well on your way to 1 bad, nitrous fed SBC.
