Are our cars easy to steal? My friends Trans Am was stolen on March 30th and they just found it completely stripped and burned down. I have a auto lock that goes on the clutch pedal so I hope that's enough to stop them.

That is no deterrent either down here. It would make it easier for them but they don't go that route.

I guess I am ignorant, but what does your vin number or plate number have to do with your car getting stolen?

Mark Anthony's is not the problem. It's just the area. The number of f-bodies stolen down here in the last five years has been astronomical.

Nope, not done like that either. Ask the guys who do car stereo and alarms how to by pass the theft system on an f-body. Tell them explain it to you. I was a technician for a dealer and worked on car stereo stuff somewhat so I kinda know what it takes.

Nope, the way I described only takes 20 seconds and what you are showing in the vid is not how its done. That video has been sped up, look at the counter on the bottom right its on play x2.

First if you did that to an f-body you would have to drag it by the back wheels and if you did so the front nose would scrape on any f-body. With all these put together f-bodies, the front cap is a wanted piece so nobody is going to ruin an f-body front cap.

If I'm stealing an f body I could give a **** less if the whole front clip falls off.

1. If they were taking them like you show in the vid and wanted just the motor and the trans, then why are they not taking vettes,GTO's, and TBSS's at the same alarming rate?

I know repo guys who jack cars up from the front, get under it and pop the linkage off an A4 and pull it from the front. If it's a manual they can get inside just as easy as you can and make it roll. And still be down the road in under 2 minutes.

2.This I give you this can be done very easily.

Most of all if the cops are seen or heard on the radio, the repo set up can drop it and creep away, if the cop pulls the repo guy over he's got rights to be out at 3 am.

A cop see's an f-body speeding around at 3am, it's getting chased and whoevers driving is the theif.

3. First of all I was born and raised in the N.O. I have never saw one of the trucks you show in the vid. That truck is not just your average dually. It has a hercules back half on it which cost some $$$$ not to mention the hydraulics. Second, some of the guys who posted on here about their f-bodies being stolen in the metro area had them stolen from them in broad daylight.

My vote goes to the repo set up, especially the sneeker lift on a regular pick up with a licensed repo driver, or even a regular person.

4. Believe what you want, I will stick to mine.

You sound like you know the bastards stealing everyones ****, you're in the area and dead set on proving me wrong.
5. FIRST you need to stop making accusations about people. You don't know me. Second, I know the original poster of this thread and I know the car he is talking about, I have seen it many times, so he is just not just another ls1tech member he is a friend. Third, I have a family and job with a major corporation to worry about, I am not going to get my self caught up in some bullshit like stealing f-bodies.

Maybe you're the one taking them since you are so dead set on this is how they are being stolen.

Or maybe you one of them people trying to find who's doing it

All my answers have the numbers by them
