OBDI or OBDII? Either way, good luck. Nobody wants to mess with them. We do a ton of them since nobody in Georgia wants to work on LT1's anymore.

You need to tell him to convert to OBDI. It's cheap, easy, and leaves room for a TON more tuning options. We do not mess with OBDII LT1 computers. We'll either convert them or send them to Ed Wright. That operating system is the biggest pile of **** known to all of computer programmed mankind.

He has both, OBDI is on the car and has a very messed up attempt of a tune, but he an OBDII that can be used that is untouched.

If Damian sends his stuff to Ed Wright, that's the best answer you're gonna get. Tell your buddy to do an LS1 PCM swap if he wants more options for a tuner. The LT1 aftermarket never took off like the LS1 so it's gonna be nearly impossible to find somebody to tune that car.

Tell him to stick with the OBD-I.

The only reason we EVER use Ed Wright is for that reason. I'm not a huge fan of him, but I'm not plunking down $400 in software/cables to tune a platform that hardly anyone mods anymore. As for the LT1 market, it did blow up just like the LSX market......in the 90's. Due to the primitive technology, pain of working on them, and the LS platform the LTX stuff just died. People realized they could do 3 LS1 header swaps in the time it took them to do 1 LT1 car.

As far as I know we're one of the only shops left that still work on them.

I know a few years ago when I had my lt1, nobody knew anything about them. Thankfully, I knew I wanted an ls1 so I never spent any money on it other than a shifter.
