From all the cam swaps and ETs i see on 346-347ci motors, any bigger than the MS3 cam and you really don't gain anything without having to spin the motor above 7000rpms.

A cam from the 224-232 duration with lift in the .580s is a solid cam with or without heads. Another thing is people need to start getting away from grinding these cams on 114 lsa if they want to make more useable power without having to spin the motor to high rpms.

^^^I agree. I plan on going with TSP's 233/239 since I don't DD mine. It will eventually become a track car so that's why I choose to go somewhat big to start with cause a good set of heads will definately go good with this cam and should accomplish what I'm looking for. Plus, I'm not scared to wrap the motor high IF I need to. If it breaks that just means bigger and better on the rebuild.

Typical cam packages are setup with a 114 for A4s and 112 for M6s.

lsa stands for lobe sep. angle...The number of degrees between the intake and exhaust lobe centerlines establishes what is called the lobe separation angle. As overlap increases, tends to make the idle quality more erratic, or lumpy, while improving midrange and top-end power.

The 114 lsa tend to make the horsepower later in the rpm band. A lower LSA will make the power sooner and give you a much broader power curve, most of the time all of this equals faster ETs. Alot of people can't tune a cam in the lower LSA or don't feal comfortable trying to tune one so they pick a 114 lsa because it will idle without a tune and drive decent but in the end a tune is needed either way you go.

From what I've seen a 112 and a 114 make about the same power but the 112 will make it about 3-500rpm's sooner than a 114 cam. 112 sounds meaner. Rumpity rumpity rumpity
