Default Red River LS1 Shootout Series

Last year at this time while we couldn't do any racing because of the weather we started an LS1tech race event for St. Patricks Day at Red River Raceway in Gilliam, La.. That was a pretty good day with around 40+ cars showing up from around the Ark-La-Tex, we did it again in the middle of summer and one last time around thanksgiving. This year we are going to shoot for something a little bigger. We are going to go for a five(5) race series with pay-outs to the winner & runner-up at each event with points being kept from all races and awards at the end of the series. I have just started to look for sponsors for our events which will be ran March 15th, May 31st, July 19th, September 6th, and November 22nd tentatively. The sponsors I will need to help with the awards for the top ten finishers at the end of the series and the event pay outs will come off of the gate. The points system has been worked out, there will be two classes Open heads up & LS1 bracket. This is what the plans are for this year, there will be no changes as I am printing up the format to carry to potential sponsors. Chris & myself think this will work out great we just need the Ark-La-Tex to show up and support this ( there is no money being made in this venture, everything goes to the racers ).More to come

My friend if I may call you friend, I don't know what is up with you, maybe Santa wasn't to nice to you, maybe the new year has you down. But we have been forming our little LS1tech racing group at Red River Raceway for over a year now and alot of people from all over the Ark-La-Tex have put time & energy into our fun times together at the track. So I think it is a good time for me to thank them for 2007. You see they are what makes things work, I just coordinate between them and the track. First off I would like to thank LS1tech.com for giving us the ok to go with this, next Molly & Ken Hall at RRR and the track crew there, cainsw & his family, blue98Z & Kristi, StreetStalkerZ, NavyblueSS, RDTA, 02SSLE, lilmangto, little Red Camaro, camaroboy 869592, bene, LS1 Goat, Runinhot, gccasper,UCA BlackChevy, donair 76, Slow 98Z, grey 03 mach1, Brian C 98Z28, Spdmini, Silverls2gto05, MCBRIZ28, the_merv, Exile, Sigforty,Zssman,JuicedLS1, casper the ghost, Darbadocious,LS1wfo and all who joined in along the way. But these are the names that put the time and energy in at the start, names I have kept on file because they started this group. cainsw and myself have been the middle men talking with the track, LS1tech, and the group themselves. ALL OF YA'LL HAVE A GREAT NEW YEAR & THANKS FOR 2007, LOOK FORWARD TO 2008.

I agree, keep up the good work Caddo and Cainsw. Sounds like the 08 racing season is going to be a lot of fun. Can't wait.

cainsw called this morning ( he is working on a web site for us ) we were thinking Red River LSX Racers or something along that line. Anyway being the racer that he is and not wanting to leave anyone out he is going to go with something along the lines of EFI not LSX to let the pony guys & gals know they are welcome as well as other brands. All of you that have a NHRA rulebook we will use a points system like that of the Lucas Oil Drag Racing Series which we will post on the new site soon for all to see. We went with this system because it works well for 4 or fewer as well as over 129 cars ( would I love to see that ). Kristi blue98Zs' wife may be our official points keeper ( if she isn't racing that 94 camaro ) or too busy, cainsw and myself will work with the Bracket group, we need some of ya'll to step up on the Heads Up racing that has experience there to point us in the right direction. Anyway just somethings to think about til we get site running.

Here is a link to the site. It's just something I threw together for us. Check it out and give me some feedback good or bad.
If we keep it LS only cars we'd never get enough so I figured we could keep it open to the same guys that raced with us last year. I'd just like to keep it EFI only cars/trucks. That is where the name EFI Racing come from. Doesn't matter what you drive as long as it's EFI powered. Check it out and sign up if you like

Noon til 5 if the weather holds up. They'll let you slide on the helmet as long as you don't go too fast. We all park up by the fence just past half track stop by if you decide to go

With your mods and some practice you'll have alot more than that in there. 4.30's and McCleod are worth alot!

Hope so, find out tomorrow. My 60's sucked bad, like 2.1 and 2.2. Still ran 13.09. I hope these tires are worth a damn. Oh, and i have a vert, sucks, but only sometimes. Fun in the sun tho. My times were with full weight.
