Because the 95,000 dollar ones have 600 hp (rated at 650 on dyno) only a couple of the 600 hp were made but the ones with the 427 didnt make that much power and the 95,000 have more options

Mine is at LWA having the C5R 427 with C5R .090 heads and all that other stuff now. I'm sure I'll top $100k before it's over. I took delivery with the LS6 engine. I'm still trying to figure out where I'm going to store an engine, clutch, rear end, drive shaft and various other stock parts!

Nope. Matt only offered the 427 after a few of us said we were going to send our cars to LPE or where ever. I think about 60% or so got 427s.
LWA is Lamar Walden Automotive. Lamar is kind of a Grumpy Jenkins/LPE of the SE. GM thought an awful lot of him to give him the first free ZL1. He set all kinds of records in his class with #51.
I remember in the 60s and 70s wherever a LWA car was going to run the competition would go elsewhere. He knows how to make HP. The proof will soon be in the C5R pudding.
I had a hot 55 chevy in the late 60s. Lamar put a Crane roller and several other things in it. A head-on ended plans for a big block with Hilborn injecters. A few years later he tuned my LT1 Corvette when GM was totally stumped by the 950 holly three barrel and solid lifter cam. The man is a genius when it comes to chevy engines in my opinion.

Alot of the popular old-school Chevy engine builders here in Houston curse the LS1. They cannot understand it, and refuse to give up on carbs. They were always impressed how I could drive my 10-second car home after racing them at the track though, while they had to trailer up their 11-second bracket cars. A few have attempted to port the heads, but with poor results. Takes practice, and they are a few years behind now. Hopefully your guy has more experience with these engines, they don't react like SBCs or BBCs, especially in cam specs. Let us know how it turns out

LWA has kept up with the times. His son Robby, stays on top of all the latest computer stuff. Robby can build 'em and race 'em. He's done both.
Comp Cams gave Lamar some input on the cam but I'm not worried about his knowledge. He ends up fixing most of the stuff other shops screw up and always is doing tune-up, heads and cams on late model GMs.

Cammin, since you have the inside track (damned GMMG peeps
) why don't you clear the air on all the mis-information?

As I said in my original reply to this thread,..... Ahh the joys of the mis-informed.
Besides, guys on here are drag racers, not car collectors. Sometimes somethings are hard to understand if you dont have the same way of thinking.
