Default ? for the firehawk guys

Im looking at this firehawk and it has some vents in the hood and the guy is calling them heat extractors. Was this something offered from the factory? It looks like a true firehawk but I just dont know to much about them. Its a 2002 and has 70,000 miles and he wants 8750 for is this a good deal also it a manual with black exterior and tan interior. How rare is this car and would it be worth it? Also did these really have 345hp? Any knowledge and opinon is appericated thanks

1999-2002 firehawk all have the heat extractors on the hood. i believe yes on the 345 to the flywheel horsepower....another firehawk guy might be able to tell you how much more rare it is but i know black was one of the more used colors..... what's the production # of the one your looking at?

Price is almost too good to be true.
Don't get scammed.
Any links that we can see to help verify the validity? PM if necessary.

345hp rating, only if it has the Donaldson Blackwing Airbox. Otherwise it would be a 335hp car.

Check the RPO code decal on the driver's door, if there is no WU6, its not a real Firehawk.

Assuming you are looking at a T/A and not a Formula, CompNine's (incomplete*) breakdown on '02 T/A Hawks:

745 Total T/A Coupes
526 w/ M6
234 w/ M6 & Black exterior (41U)
60 w/ M6 & Taupe Leather interior (522/523)
24 w/ M6 & Lt Camel Leather interior (672/673)

* CompNine's database appears to be missing a few units, other sources show 1132 total '02 T/A Hawks built, 768 w/ M6. Check Firehawk.org for their breakdown.

Okay, now I know why it is priced a bit lower.
It's a 2000 year model, not 2002.

#1) That means it does NOT qualify for the 345hp rating.
#2) The phone number associated to the ad is a fax number for someone at a Bloomington, Indiana educational site.
#3) The heading of the ad states 2000. Yet the sales ad shows "last year" 2002 notes.
#4) The ad states chrome wheel option, yet it specifically shows the silver painted wheels in the photos.
#5) The states that it has both the 1LE & Bilstien suspension options. But the fact is that they were NOT available together.
#6) The seats look like they have been recovered. Not original leather. If it was original, it wouldn't have all those wrinkles, it's be tight on the seats.

Still might be a good buy if it's a legit sale ad.
Seller just doesn't know much about the details.

I was gonna be very pissed if my 02 in similar mileage was going to be priced at 9K like that one....but it's OBVIOUSLY a scam. I wouldn't even write anymore.
