Sport Gold Metallic (SGM) was a '98-only color and was relatively rare. Full production breakdown in the link in my sig.

Hello,

I'm new to the site as a few days ago and I just purchased a 98 WS6 Sport Gold TA.

I see that 34 automatics T-top cars (if I'm reading it right?) were built, but I was wondering if you can break it down more? as in: mine is a t-top, graphite leather, Monsoon with out 10 disk changer, power seats, locks, etc.......

Any help would be grateful and appreciated.

Yes, all '98+ T/A coupes had t-tops (the only exception were 2 '98 pilot / prototype / mule T/As w/ HT that were built and for some reason their VINs were not in CompNine's database so they didn't show up in my breakdown). Unfortunately, CompNine closed their doors and I no longer have access to the data necessary to break down your car futher. BUT, there was a period of time when CompNine's VIN-to-RPO decoder was up before their RPO-serchable GUI was up and running where I attempted to break down the rarer '98 WS6 colors (since I have the VIN-ASC# list). I was able to confirm that 49 of the 52 SGM '98 WS6 T/A coupes had the graphite leather interior, but I didn't determine how that split transmission-wise, or what interior was in the other 3 SGM WS6 TAs. Sorry I can't help.

I believe I saw a gold WS6 Formula over the weekend on the NW side of Chicago, had t-tops. I hope I bump into the guy. I think it was real since most folks with a Formula wouldn't be that clued into what a WS6 was.

A local friend, Rudy from WI had a gold Formula, and he totaled it about 10 years ago. I don't recall if it was hardtop or t-top.

There was one SGM WS6 Formula HT built, and it was a 1LE. But that's not to say that there were NO other non-WS6 SGM Formula HTs w/ 6-spds built (which would not be 1LEs).

Hi John just me Gobaby from chitown, Pete's friend. Yup its a real WS6 Formula, my RPO code comfirms it. It was a 6speed car and has a 4l60 in it now, with cloth interior. I bought it like that off a guy on chitownracing.

I've been mostly fixing the car trying to get it 100 percent, lil details here and there. I really would be interested to see what number it is. I know it 1-7 with the package.

I saw you a few weeks ago at Peterson and Pulaski. Does the car have crank windows Benny?

PM your VIN# to me and I'll look it up (I do have the WS6 ASC#s for the non-black & red '98s). My info shows that 4 of the 6* SGM Formulas had cloth interior (one of those is the 1LE/HT car).

*The difference between 6 and 7 may be due to what appears to be 2 missing SGM WS6 VIN#s in CompNine's database.

The car has t-tops right B? The one I saw did, didn't have any tailpipes, look lowered on stock WS6 wheels. I'm a sucker for Formulas.

Yep, GoBaby's car should have T-tops. The only SGM HT WS6 built is the one 1LE (ASC# 2445). All other SGM Formula WS6s have T-tops.

Now that I've looked at my list again, I just remembered that there was only one SGM WS6 'vert w/ a white top (ASC# 825, owned by member "loodaman37", which also has white leather interior). I have seen that car around town years ago, I think before "loodaman37" owned it. Little did I know at the time that it was 1 of 1. Link to his pics here.

I've seen only one SGM WS6 vert, it was downtown Chicago and about 8 years ago.

No crank up, power and I'm Dave. Benny is the one that has the zo6 c6, had the 427 red SS, zo6 c5 blown. I don't think you've met me at the shop.

There is the car, with the RPO code! It has cloth interior. Was a 6speed car, now its auto. Me and Benny did some fabing to make it look like its a 6speed but if you really look you will know its a auto. Check the picture out.

Yep that's the one I saw. I'd love to check it out sometime, maybe if y'all meet up at Pete's shop or something.

Your car is ASC#0006, formerly owned by member "sgm98ws6". This is the lowest numbered SGM WS6 on my WS6 VIN list. Would you like me to update the Registry Listing in the sticky?
