Default Any 3rd gen Firehawks?

This is what someone on another forum said...

"No way dude.
1st gen > all others. Not the best handling, but who cares when it looks like that!
And L98s were mid 14 sec, while the 3rd gen Firehawks were the fastest f-bodys of any year. 375hp and 3100lbs. Nice.... "

And I thought the turbo v6 GTA's were the fastest of the 3rd gen models

I thought the turbo TAs were the fastest too...and if they weren't, they could be for about $10.

yes, there were 25 produced, the Turbo Trans Am (TTA) is not reffered to as a GTA, even though it has the same body kit and all that, its just not reffered to it like that.
according to firebirdgallery.com they were the fastest pontiac built. i know it was a formula when it left the factory but was sent to SLP.

They did not weight 3100lbs and they ran 13.6s stock, LS1s have gone 12s stock. They have a cool intake though.

what the **** is he talking about?

besides, firehawks first year was 1997. There was 1 LT1 year. 2002 was the 5th anniversary. what an imbecile.

And why do people keep calling the 1st gen the best year? It's like those people saying the new LS2 GTO's have nothing on the 64's and Judges. Come on, they ran high 14s and handled like a garbage truck. Man these blind old muscle followers are lame. They need to get back into their stock 4 banger lowered S-10s and drive them off a cliff.

Ok i'm done.

Trust me, most of those people up there dont know **** about cars! I try to set them strait sometimes. When he mentioned the Firehawks as a 3rd gen f-body, I was like... "HUH?!"

Firehawk's first year was 1991, dude. You guys are the ones that don't know what's up.

It was basically a race prepped 3rd gen.

The 91/92 Firehawk with the Comp R package is the best F-Body ever (I am probably biased since I own a 3rd gen).

I've had plenty of people mistake my 88 formula for a Firehawk many times.

And it's hard to judge the 1/4 mile times since the owners or past owners of the Hawks probably didn't drive the car as well or as hard as the next guy.

I figure that they should run in the 12's since I've gotten my friends 82 Trans Am with a bolt on LT1 that dyno'd 288rwhp to a 13.4@106 with a 2.0 60' on street tires at street pressure.

A properly driven firehawk should run a 12. They're faster than the TTAs in stock form, iirc.

I could be completely wrong since it's been awhile..

Yep he got ya. The firehawk was the coolest 3rd gen ever made, in my opinion. You'll probably never see one in person, though.

That green Firehawk up there is the only one they made in that color... most of them were red. And they made 1 convertible, too.

Dayamm, Only 25!! Why was that? How much did they cost? FYI, I bought my 89 formula350 from a local dealer back in 92 and remember seeing them in a Brochure or One of the many Car mag's I had collected. I personally didn't like the look of the wheels, but everything else was nice. Now, I miss my TPI, damm, that thing was torquey down low

I saw a 3rdGen Firehawk for sale at Burns Pontiac in NJ back in the day. I want to say the window sticker was around $30K... It was only there for a few weeks, so I don't know if it was sold or sent to another dealer.

I could be wrong, but I thought I read awhile back that the sticker for a the 3rd gen hawk was about the same as a corvette.
