Finding a mecham t/a?
The 98-02 Mecham T/A has always been my dream car and Id love to try and find one before breaking down and making a clone. Anyone have any ideas on where to start looking? A friend in HS had a white one on roh zs's with blue decals and the blue phoenix on the hood. Thats the car that made me fall in love with LSX fbodies.

I believe there's around 30 Mecham TAs. Try doing a search on oodle.com, it searches all the classified sites except autotrader and perhaps a couple smaller sites.

There was only 30? Wow. My friend is a complete dumbass then. He had someone steal the car for him so he could collect the insurance check. (Hes already been to jail for it btw so dont get your undies in a wad, hes served his time.)

I think there were only around 30 of the REAL deal Mecham TAs and all that. The numbered ones. If it didn't have a number on (I think) the driver's side headlight and the spoiler, then it wasn't necessarily one of the real deal ones. Mecham sold just parts as well, and it may have been one of those cars just made with a few of the parts. I've seen several that were just parts or without numbers. One has chromalusion paint and the other is red with black air brushing.
I don't collect Firebird info, but I did look at some of my notes, and I believe there were 9 Mecham Camaro Z29Rs made. I don't have the number of Firebirds written down anywhere. Something tells me from memory it was around 30, but it might be a much lower number. I know there's at least 18. I think you'd need to call Dennis Mecham and ask him, because I don't have the number apparently.
Just so this post is worthwhile, I do know the color of a couple of the #ed Firebirds.
#1 is red
#2 is pewter
#4 is navy blue
#7 is navy blue
#8 is a silver convertible
#18 is black and doesn't have the number on the headlight, it has it on the engine bay

Different years had different amounts made. Only Dennis has the exact numbers, I think it is more than 30. Because when I called Dennis about my 2001 he said they made less than 20 in 2001, so i would say there is more than 30 made. Finding them is a whole other issue. I looked for a few years, Had one owner back out on me when I was wiring him the money and finally found probably the best one I could have purchased in November. Good luck I will keep my eyes open for you.

That car is super nice but that wing and hood is hideous to me. I love my ws.6 and all fbody cars but for a specialty car i think they could have done a little better job on the wing at least.

They say "Pro Dyno Limited edition". Its actually labeled #1. Mr. Mecham told me that it was a joint venture between the original owner and Pro Dyno to build similar "Supercars" And that was car #1. Which I thought was odd because Pro Dyno is the company Mecham used for the work on the cars they sold. So thats why it got labeled that way. Oh and I guess they never made a #2. Could not sell any! Lol. But it is going back to the way it should be. A "Mecham TA"!

Crazy how rare these cars are. I never figured that much, but I also live in Phoenix where all of them were built. Hell, I currently work a block from where the original Mecham Pontiac was. Dennis was selling a bunch of take off parts about six months ago on CL here for dirt cheap. Hoods, strut and spring asemblies, spoilers, wheels etc.

It's good to see people who can obviously afford whatever car they want still owning f-bodies (albeit at a higher level). Just goes to show the appreciation for these cars spans across all levels of society. Amazing car (and house!)

Thanks! I will never not own a 4th Gen T/A. Best car in my opinion. BTW, Not my house, It was a photo shoot house from the previous owner.
