If they ever start the new Knight Rider movie, which 4th gen TA do you think they will use?

They probably won't use a Trans-AM. They didn't in the Knight Rider 2000 movie which chronologically they will likely ignore.

Plus the producers said they want to appeal to today's crowd. So likely KITT will be a talking Civic.

Yeah, I'll boycott the movie if it's not either a 3rd gen or 4th gen TransAm. (With any of the packages). I forgot about Knight rider 2000. that’s Uncreative people at their best. Same thing with the last season of Airwolf.

Stupid Producers with no creativity = Knightrider 2000 and last season of airwolf.

Actually in motion pictures they can build as many Trans Ams as they want from scratch. They build cars and planes (and tons of other things!) every day for the movies, so don't think they'd HAVE to use and destroy the real thing. It's all magic.

They'd probably build one car up for driving sequences and close up stuff. Then after that everything would be models or CG for the rest.

They can have one fourth gen T/A. They can show thirdgens in flashback scenes if they want. But KITT shoulnd't be a thirdgen unless the movie turns into a remake, kind of like Starsky and Hutch did.

The Knight Rider 2000 movie car was a Dodge Stealth made up to look like a Pontiac Banshee. They got as close as they could without upsetting GM. They asked GM if they could use the Banshee concept car and GM said no. So they wanted that basic look and created a car from scratch to capture it.

From the front and from certain angles the car looked ok. I did take issue with the car being red and not black.

It should be a Black WS6 with the light bar in the opening that is already there (minus the center divider). To stick with the stock rims theme (KITT's rims were production rims) it should have the CETA black WS6 rims.

It's funny that GM GAVE Knight Rider the first production third-gens to use in the show but then when they got too many people wanted the special edition "KITT" fire-bird they asked the show to stop using the Trans-Am name instead of just making a freaking special edition car.

That will probably keep them from using a LS1 Trans-Am (since they don't make them anymore) unfortunately.

And if that's the case KITT needs to be the original third-gen or just stay in re-runs.

Use the OLD KITT for the flash back, and the NEW KITT for the movie...2000-2002 would make a GREAT KITT car....

That was rude you guys got me thinking that there really was a knight rider movie coming out and yes they did use the banshee in the t.v. knight rider 2000 before he was in a 57 chevy and the dodge stealth I believe was the smokey and the bandit type deal wasn't it. I do remember the banshee that went on water in the knight rider movie. I personally own an 02ws6 and would love to see it on the silver screen but just ain't gonna happen. You have to remember that the dukes movie is coming out like next year and they will have the 69 dodge charger if I remember correctly.

NOOOOOO!!!!!! those evil bastards @ the Duke's TV show destroyed enough of those beautiful cars , at LEAST 10 cars per episode were completely trashed with the jump sequences.I still hate everyone from that show (except for Catherine Bach,BUT she didn't age so well........)

No they did not use a Banshee. They asked GM for it and they said NO. So they wanted a car with that look, if you'll do some research on this topic you'll find that the car is a 1991 Dodge Stealth with customer body panels.

They created a car that looked as close to the Banshee as possible without pissing GM off.

If you'll look they are similar but not the same.

they may just use base firebirds for much of the shooting, and use T/A WS6 for the look. Just cause they don't make it any longer, doesn't mean they won't use it. They could even convert firebirds to T/As for the show. Except for 2000, they have used gm vehicles as far as i know.

I'd bet on the fact that likely the new car will be a custom thing either built from scratch or built on an existing vehicle base. But more than likely, just as in the KR2000 movie it will be a completley different car.

I agree, in it's day it was great. It's cheesy by today's standards of course. But overall the concept is still decent.

A little over 300 '68 & '69 Chargers bit the dust. Daisy didn't age well at all...tanned leather-look isn't so becoming.

I'd go with a 4th Gen Ram Air WS6 T/A for the movie...it MUST be a Ram Air WS6 T/A...There's just too many of 'em
