Default CETA, is this a ridicoulas price.

ok as i was driving through town today, i noticed a car lot had a BAD *** CETA trans am so i stop and look at it for ***** and giggles, the guy comes out and says it has a vette engine yadda yadda yadda, telling me to trade my car in, so i say how much do you guys have it listed for " 26-27k" that seems RIDICOUSLY overpriced to me, it is a m6 with 10k miles, it looks babied, but still. is this just me or is that nuts ?

Not a BAD price. Book on it is still in the low 20's but there's one here in the auto trader now (convertable) with 48 miles (new) going for 39k.

Somebody offered me 27k on my Firehawk two months ago with 46k miles on it and I'm not selling it-ever. It's "priceless."

It's a Collector Edition Trans Am, the yellow ones with stripes.
As for the price, it seems alittle high, but not too bad

Any person who refers to their Fbody with the "Corvette Engine" I usually end up walking away from. But I find CETA's and LESS's (or SSLE's if you don't like the other acryonm sp?) going for a couple thousand more than regular T/A's and SS's. But only if they are babied.

this one was definately babied, i gave it a quick glance over, still had factory tires on it. very nicely taken care of, but ya i thought in my head what a tool when the guy said that. ( technically it does, but gimme a break ) i understand some people are not as into cars and dont know, but if that is the case dont TRY to act like you do just to make a sale ya know? it's a little out of my price range, plus the SS is paid off so it would be kinda dumb, but if it was possible believe me i would have snatched this thing up quick.

edit: i've been around the site for a while, and i've never heard of a limited edition SS? what is the appearance differences, can someone post a picture? or are they just the tom henry's etc. thanks guys.

nevermind, i answered my own question they are the 35th annv. packages that ran in 2002 durrrrrrr

My personal opinion on the collector edition is Gm should have painted in reference to a famous trans am, I think they would have no problem selling them in a smokey and the bandit colors. If I was designing the collector edition it would have been black on black, with the same stripes the CETA's came with and with gold wheels.

As for that salesman, I am a salesmanager myself and I see alot of poorly educated salesman. When I bought my '01 Camaro in SOM the salesman annoyed the **** out of me, he even argued that the car had a LT1 in it instead of a LS1. Salesman:"These LT1's sure are strong engines.(referencing horsepower) Me: Ya LT1's sure are strong, but since Gm replaced them with LS1's in the F-bodies in '98 , I would have to say the LS1's are a little more powerful. Salesman: well this one has a LT1 and GM only put the LS1 in the corvettes! Me: Can I talk to a smarter salesman? How about just let me make a deal with your manager.

Beautiful. You'd think that salesmen would be knowledgeable on the cars they're trying to sell. But hey, what do I know?

You could have sold it, bought another, and had money left over.

He got a CE? If so, let him know about collectorfbody.com if he does already know.

About a year back the dealership had one with 37k miles on it. I could have got it for 14k but I deceided I like Camaro SS better. Besides the one I got for 15.5 is much faster and have lower miles on it.
