The last Firehawk and the '98 pilot car

There were only three 6-speed Formulas in the state of Texas at the time, I had to drive 5 hrs away to pick up my first LS1.
I really wanted a Formula Firehawk with those headlights!

I had been amazed by the '91/'92 Hawks but had missed out on the 4th gen cars until I saw that one. I had just gotten a computer and online , so I did a search and ended-up becoming first a lurker, and then a regular on the SLP board. That,of course led me to eventually ordering my '02 (very long story) and ending up owning the last one.
Ever see the Silver '98 Formula with the fixed headlights? It was a real sweetie.

I think years ago a picture of a pewter 98 and someone said it was Ed Hamburgers, I don't know. There were two formulas that I have seen in person. The other one was NBM. SLP had a misshap with the driver side quarter panel and did an in house fix. I have Ed and Dave Hamburger's signature on the radiator support that was signed at the Firehawk rally in Norwalk. I can tell you that my car had been well used "abused" when I bought it. But who care's, that what they are for I guess.

Not much has changed really, but I'll let Dave tell that part of it.

these prototype lights were on ebay for 25,000 a long time ago, maybe a year or so, they weren't aftermarket, i am 100% sure they were SLP, they had shots of the guy makin them and the shop at troy, and a certificat of authenticity, all that crap

Since Dave hasn't chimed in on this I'll tell you what the deal is. He listed the lights (yes, they are the real deal) to drive traffic to his ebay store - he doesn't expect to actually sell them. I'd love to see them re-united with the car, even if I'm not the one to do it.

Wealth is a lifestyle.. let me explain...
A rich man spends... "invests" $1Million dollars on -ten- paintings@ $100,000 each.
A poor man would say, "Holy **** you just wasted $1Million dollars!"
The rich man would respond...," I didn't spend one penny, I get the pleasure of seeing fine art and when it's time to cash out I still have $1mill... and maybe more."
Like I said... and like the wise man "9 Ball in the corner pocket" said "money is relative," enjoy the quick breath of life while it here. "Get a life...style" ~Joshua
