Still need tires for 02 firehawk Well im still looking for tires for my 2002 firehawk.....any suggestions on what works good and what to stay away from.....im kinda leaning toward the firestone firehawk wide oval, anybody know anything about this tires????

well actually they come with p275/40/17 firestone firehawk sz50 ep...that tire is no longer made...so they came out with the wide ovals dont know to mucha bout them

ya they are good. your tire purchase, is based on the needs you will have of your tire. autox, road racing, drag racing, or DD. those are all different tires and price ranges as well. there are tons of threads about this

I bought the cheapest tires i could find for my SS cuz i was broke.....and amazingly I am very happy with them....also a friend has them and pulled some 1.6 60' at the strip. got them at tire rack for $96 each.....Sumitomo HTRZ II

i have goodyear eagle f1 gsd3's and love them, they stick very good, road noise isnt bad at all....i drove it in slight rain once (on my way to a photoshoot with it) and it performed great on slightly damp roads (it was just sprinkling to light rain for about 20 mins)

If you got the cheese, go with the Michelin Pilot Sport PS2. They are used on the supercars from Bugati, Saleen, Porsche, etc. Certainly good enough to handle my Firehawk which is a just a little bit slower than those other rides.

wide ovals stick out past the rim a little bit to protect it.. also, the rubber feels soft but youll still get a good mileage out of them like 25k plus normal driving..
buddy has them in 295/35/18 on a vette and he loves them say they hook well for a street tire and you cant beat the price.. the only other thing i would say is check out kdw2s because they arent much more... and avon tech m500s are suppose to be good for the price.

I actually could get a hold of 5 original firehawk tires when I was looking myself. Didn't actually buy them but did have someone at firestone locate them. They are out there, but need someone that knows where to look. I have the actual part numbers for them, but not with me here. I also posted this up on the firehawk web site as well. I could post the numbers here later tonight or tomorrow. The thing is if you need them now, that would be hard. They are scattered around the country.
I would get the wide ovals. I'm trying a set of slightly used f1 gs's for now, but they are too hard. A lot of spin, til they warm up. And no rim protecters. Next year will be the wide ovals.
