Will SLP ever release the SS build numbers??
Seems like since they no longer build the car they couldn't care less if they release the numbers or not. I've got a 02, 1LE, A4 and I'd like to have a FN clue how many were made.

Re: Will SLP ever release the SS build numbers??
SLP didn't keep the records of the build numbers. I believe it was subcontracted to a company that went out of business as soon as the f-body production was finished. The contract ended. I've been told that the information is still on the computers used to track the info, and that it is up to SLP to put some effort into retrieving the info though. Who knows if or when that will happen.
BTW, how did you get a 1LE A4? I thought all 1LE cars were stripped manual cars, with no power accessories? Does it say 1LE on your door sticker?

Re: Will SLP ever release the SS build numbers??
Those are not the SS numbers. SLP says they may never be able to get them. I think that's crap!
1LE was just another SLP option but the overwhelming majority are M6s. Had to be a hardtop. It is a really fun car to drive!

Re: Will SLP ever release the SS build numbers??
You won't ever get paint break down's. I tried through GM.
As far as 1LE's with Auto's, probably less than 20 made.
You shoul dhave said "HOW MANY 1LE's WERE MADE" not SS's. GET IT?

Re: Will SLP ever release the SS build numbers??
You asked for SS numbers, and I gave them to you. Had you asked for 1LE, I wouldn't have responded.
Which did you ask for and which did you want again? Oh right.... :
And yes, I do know that SLP releases OPTION BREAKDOWN NUMBERS every year.

Re: Will SLP ever release the SS build numbers??
You gave Z28 and camaro numbers which everyone has seen a hundred times. Plus I mentioned in the VERY first post it was a 1LE and that HAS to be an SS which means it had to pass through SLP.
Thanks Dave....you get around! I don't think there were many SSs made just like mine. Maybe only 2 or 3 and if that's the case I'm going to put it on a lift and just drive it occasionally. If ther were 20 or so made that would change my thinking.

Re: Will SLP ever release the SS build numbers??
Hump - I've got other cars to drive and I will drive the SS but I'd like to know how many more, if any, are just like it. BTW - I bought a blk SS Siverado last week. I bet that's a rare duo. I'll post a pic if it ever stops raining here!

Re: Will SLP ever release the SS build numbers??
You had to get SS to get a 1LE? I don't think so, 2 weeks ago I looked at a silver 1LE z28. Body colored roof, black mirrors, totally stripped with a M6. (it was a 98). Unless they changed the 1LE requirements later in production, it didn't have to be an SS. An auto SS 1LE has got to be super rare though. I didn't actually think it was possible. Got any pics of your RPO list?

Re: Will SLP ever release the SS build numbers??
In 01 and 02 it had to be installed at SLP so it would have to be an SS. Dave can tell you more I'm sure. I'm going to the beach for a few days. I'll post some pix next week.

Re: Will SLP ever release the SS build numbers??
Sorry to hear about all your troubles about this. Us WS6 guys got our #'s a while back. Even though I have no idea how many of mine there were, i really don't care since it's so common.

Re: Will SLP ever release the SS build numbers??
The '00-'02 SLP-made 1LE was not the same as the GM made 1LE. GM stopped making true "1LE" cars in 1999, and SLP started making what they called a "1LE", which was basically a SS or a Firehawk with the Bilstein package and a few other suspension upgrades. It wasn't the overall treatment that the previous model years got. A '99 1LE is far beyond a '01 1LE.
1LE's prior to 2000 were stripper cars, many with no A/C, hardtops Z28s and WS6 Formulas.
