Default Sept 2004 LS1TECH $100 Rewards Program

To reward all of our wonderful members and sponsors of this site, we have come up with a way to help pay some lucky individuals back! The rules are simple:

1. All registered members are eligible, except Administrators. Yes, staff members and sponsors are eligible too.

2. For the month of September, please answer the following:

A. What is the longest distance you would drive to attend an LS1 event? (miles)

B. Would a 2-day event/gathering be better for you vs a 1-day event?

C. What would be the most important thing for you to attend an event?

3. Winner will be randomly drawn from all the replies in this thread for this month. Winning number is randomly generated using a mathematical software program.

4. All entries can be submitted up thru the last day of September 2004. Winner will be drawn on first day of the following month. Winner's member name will be posted here at the end of the contest, and they must respond via email within 10 calendar days or we will redraw a new winner.

Winner will receive:

Registered Member of 3 months or longer = $100.00 gift certificate to LS1TECH Sponsor of winner's choice.

-OR-

Registered Member of less than 3 months = $50.00 gift certificate to LS1TECH Sponsor of winner's choice.

Okay, the rules are simple, no further discussion about them required! Start giving us some feedback and possibly earn some mod money!

Count me in.
A: If driving my car, about 300 miles. If it was being towed, and I had the time off available, pretty much anywhere less than an 18 hour drive

B: Depends on the distance, if it's under 150 miles away, a 1 day event, if it's more than 5 hours, a 2 day, I'd rather just stay over at that point anyway

C: The thing that I like to see the most at events is lots of manufacturers and shops with displays and GOOD knowledgable people there to talk about their products and services. I don't think that there's enough big shows that have manufacturer support. If there was a show that had manufacturer support, and I mean real support, with over 100 different manufacturers, like a sema event that we could go to , especially here on the eastcoast, that would be killer.
It would be even better if it was a mulit day event at a drag strip, and the manufacturers were challenged to bring a car for a 2 day race event that only manufacturers could enter, that would be even better. A similar race for shops that do the installs and whatnot would be cool too.... 2 classes. Have an event like that, and I bet every ls1 junkie in the country would go.

Ahh, what the hell:

A. I would drive 1000-1500 miles to an LS1Tech event. Especially if I knew it was going to be a big turnout!

B. Definitely a 2 day event. That would make the drive more worthwhile.

C. The most important thing that would make me attend would be the prize money whatever class I would be racing in. Besides that, knowing that all my LS1Tech budies would be attending would definitely make the event more fun!

A. 1000 miles if I had the time off and the turnout/weather was expected to be good

B. depends on the size of the event. Extra days add extra costs like hotel fees. This would detract from my spending $.

C. Turnout and weather.

B. 2-Day
C. Turnout/Main Event, ie: a track rented out or something

A. 400 miles or 6 hours
B. 2-day event (overnight stay)
C. Split between location and sponsors.

Cool locations are always good. I've been to several events at the Indianpolis Motor Speedway and at the Corvette Museum in Bowling Green. Pictures of my car at automotive points of interest is always fun.

Having our sponsors there is great to meet them and talk about our hobby. I usually bring $$$ to buy parts at events.

A couple hundred miles.

two day events are pretty cool, makes the drive more enjoyable. Instead of the 2am trek home.

A car that ran would be nice to attend the events.

A. 250 miles.. I can't afford to have it towed any further in case of bad luck. However, if I have a way to trailer it in, or dolly it in.. 500-600 miles.

B. I work on weekends, and its likely that I couldn't attend both days. If it started as test and tune Friday night, and went through saturday.. then yes, I'd stay two days. Otherwise, 1 day would be better.

C. Most important thing would be beer, chicks, and a fair class system.

A: About 500 miles. Any more becomes a strain
B: 2-day is twice the fun, though it also makes harder to fit into a schedule.
C: Turnout, sponsors, and RACING. I wont drive that far for a car show, there better be a show AND racing. Girls are also always a plus.

2) 2 days would rock!
