1. Before doing any mod, not only check with vendors about the parts in question, but also check LS1TECH to see what other people who have done the same mod think so you can make as informed a decision as possible.

2. Power is nothing without the proper setup to get it to the ground effectively.

Things I'd like people who are new to learn: Learn from our mistakes... we've made them before. Oh and make sure to use SEARCH!

Probably the most important thing I have learned on this site is that you don't have to be fearful of trying new things.

i.e.
When I 1st bought my car I didn't have any plans of modding it, I came to this site and was introduced to a lid and filter, I couldn't believe I installed it without a problem Next I was encouraged to install my own exhuast and handled it without much trouble, then headers and so on. After doing that I don't mind doing anything else on my car or in life.

With the confidence I gained with working on my car and doing everything correct, I am now willing to do almost anything, just this week in my parents apartment building I cut and installed new formica tops, installed a new sink, faucet, toilet, doors, etc...

Thanks Tech!

As for the 2nd most important thing, respect the car

1) Don't be afraid to mod these computer contolled LS1s. They are hp factories begging to be played with. But be prepared to tune it.....

2) Someone on here has already done what you're thinking about trying. And if you search or ask, one of the many great people on here will help you get it done right.

1. It's pointless to argue with Zaino fanatics.
2. This site is the best place to find info on anything that has to do with f-body's.

1) Learned a lot on how LS1 responds well to internal mods
2) Learned how easy Ls1 is to work with.

Okay, the rules are simple, no further discussion about them required! Start giving us some feedback and possibly earn some mod money!
I learned that 224/224 thunder cam passes the sniffer emission tests and that the dual crane springs are the way to go for reliability.

Made owning the Z06 even better.

1. Power is a function of the COMBINATION chosen.

2. This site is, by far, the best technical resource for LSx equipped vehicles.

1) It's best to have a plan before you start modding
2) If you are looking for track times go with suspension, but if you want more of a street car, go with hp mods

1. Weight reduction is an addiction. (At first I couldn't bare to part with my jack and spare, now I have no HVAC or Power steering. My car lost 400lbs in a year. )

2. The best advice on parts and where to get them is all at ls1tech.

1. Ive learned that the horsepower the internet says you should have is usually a little overstated, each car responds a little differently to certain mods.
2. Make sure you have enough money to continue modding because once you start its extremely hard to stop, there's always something else you will want.

1) Learned not to pay full price for anything because as soon as you do someone will come out with a sale or GP.
2) No mod is perfect and sooner or later you will learn there is something better.
