Whoops, I was thinking the -8 lbs for the LTs alone. But add in the cat back, simple one like you mentioned and yeah I can easily see a nice weight savings. Anyone interested in making this or what????

Corsa Titanium Exhaust for Corvettes:
http://www.lmperformance.com/3494/4.html - $1499 without muffler
http://www.lmperformance.com/3495/4.html - $1999 with muffler

They could adapt that to F-bodies too, eh?

Corsa's website says:
C5 Competition System (without rear mufflers):

35.5 lbs. less than stock C5 aluminized system
17.5 lbs. less than stock C5 Z06 titanium system
---
C5 Street System (with rear mufflers):

28.7 lbs. less than stock C5 aluminized system
10.7 lbs. less than stock C5 Z06 titanium system

Those are comparing the Corsa Ti to the stock aluminized or stock Ti right? Nice savings. Now I guess we need to contract Corsa to get off their asses and make this for the F body! Looking at the Y body routing it would cost way to much to "adapt" to the F Bodies. And like JS suggested, making a TD>X pipe>Ti bullets, or like Borla Ovals into dumps seems easy enough.

yep, instead of paying 300k for a lambo, i paid 15k for my camaro, so i figure i can buy about 285 exhaust systems, lol...buying a lambo, now that imo is a waste of money

o, and i asked corsa about this (paul santiago), like a year and a half ago at gm carlisle, or maybe it was 2.5 years ago...but thats besides the point...he said he doesnt think there would be enough market for it, but im praying either them or someone changes their mind and makes the system...people pay 400 dollars for a k member that saves what, 20-30 pounds...so ill pay an extra 3-400 bucks for an exhaust system that saves 30 pounds

Its halltech(sp) that makes the TI system for the C5. They have a complete Ti system that from the heads to the tail pipes. Nice set up, I would deff buy it.

Very true but, with a K-memberyou are also shifting the weight bias more towards the rear of the car.

also tru, haha, but ill take the savings where i can get it, a lighter car is a faster car, better handling car, and faster stopping car, even if its not taken off in the front

Halltech's Ti system never went anywhere. It didn't help that they weren't long tubes. Ti may have some thermal problems, and of course it's crazy expensive, and not just for the material, but for the labor fees people will charge to make them. Something I would accept instead is something like this:

Intended for RSX cars, this prototype is constructed from .035 and .028 inconel, to demonstrate the exceptional durability and other notable advantages of a very low mass header system ( 7 1/2 lbs complete ).
I'm not really sure what Inconel is, or how 0.035 & 0.028 compares to anything else, but I know 7 1/2 lbs is light as hell, or at least compared to the long tubes I have listed in this thread:
http://forums.corvetteforum.com/showthread.php?t=976812

Oh yeah, I want it for the C5, screw u f-body guys! =p *jk*

Wow, that Inconel is some cool-sounding metal!
http://www.burnsstainless.com/TechAr...l_article.html
Inconel® refers to a family of trademarked high strength austenitic nickel-chromium-iron alloys that have exceptional anti-corrosion and heat-resistance properties. These alloys contain high levels of nickel and can be thought of as super-stainless steels.
...
For many years, Inconel has been used for Formula One and Champ Car exhaust systems. More recently, several Winston Cup racing teams have utilized Inconel for producing ultra-light, high-durability exhaust headers.

Burns Stainless recommends Inconel 625 alloy for exhaust systems due to its excellent strength, corrosion resistance and fabricability. This alloy also exhibits high creep and rupture strength; outstanding fatigue and thermal-fatigue strength; as well as excellent weldability (though the guy welding it might have a different opinion!).
