I am putting together a 427 and am seriously considering using these heads. I have some questions:

First, will they work ok on a LS7 based 427?

On the other thread I think that you said that these heads have 71cc combustion chambers. Are they available with smaller chambers?

Are the exhaust ports raised on the L92 heads or are they in the same position as LS1/LS2/LS6? I want to make sure that my current 1-3/4" SuperMaxx headers will work.

Thanks.

Good question... most people arent asking this. Guys running small cams should be running ls2/ls6 heads in most cases.

But with the right cams its very worth it.

Yes, it will work sufficient.

Yes we can cut them down to smaller chambers.

I will have to get back to you on the exhaust.

Yes, that camshaft should compliment the heads nicely.

It would be fine with a decently sized camshaft. It's not going to hurt it in any aspect running a smaller cam, but a bigger camshaft will allow the L92 to really shine!

Thanks,

With valves that big, will you guys offer a lightweight valve option? Maybe hollow stems?

Would new headers be required to run a 402 or 414 cubic inch ls2 or l92 block and heads? (from a ls6 set of headers?)

Check it out and let us know.

Thanks

JB

I just bought a set of the stage 2s and was concerned that my 1-3/4" headers would work. They checked and it turns out that the exhaust port is sized to work with a stock exhaust manifold gasket.
