Paul, I have just installed a new set of heads with comp dual valvesprings and I think that I have a collapsed lifter. What would be the price of a TR230 cam and a set of Comp R lifters? Also I just installed one of your ported oil pumps and my oil pressure is 40 psi at cold idle and 20 psi at warm idle. Do you think that I tore the new o-ring or is this normal?

Ditch Digger, Paul will be out of the office tomorrow attending the Hot Rod Power Tour we are sponsoring at No Problem Raceway. He can get you a price on that first thing Wednesday.

What was your oil pressure before the swap? If it was substantially higher, I would look into a problem with the o-ring.

Paul or anybody that can answer this from Thunder, is there a special price for just a cam or do you have to get the retainers/springs etc to get the GP, Reason I ask is I am getting a set of heads with all of that stuff already on them and I am looking into getting the TR 230,
Thanks in Advance

Jason, I believe that the oil pressure before the swap was higher at warm idle, but the new pump makes more pressure at anything over 2500 rpm. Also do you think that the TR230 would make a noticeable amount of more power than my current B1. I already have TTS LT's and TEA Stg. 1.5 5.3 heads.

Mike K: The price for the cam alone would be $379.99 (normally $429.99).

Ditch Digger: You should 6-8 rwhp over your B1 going to the TR230.

Go to the Thunder Racing website and click on "Specials and Clearance" at the bottom left of the screen. The minimum order has already been met.

What is the idle speed? Sounds way high. I had a 240 @.050 on a 110 LSA that would idle at 750 with a Carb yet! I thought our computers had a wide tuning band.
Whoops! This was in regards to the soundclip of your 224/224 114 LSA thru the hooker Catback.

The idle speed was at ~800, the stock six-speed idle setting in the PCM.

Paul or Jason,
I am interested in a cam pakage, but unsure of which one best suits my needs. The 224/224 .563/.563 112LSA is what I am thinking, does it sound like a good choice for the car described below?
1973 Camaro,2001 LS1 & T56 ,4.10 posi,3000# ,daily driver, drag racing and solo racing.I would like to keep mileage in upper 20s and obviously as much power as possible.Hoping for 11 sec 1/4 mile E.T.s.My heads are stock right now but will be ported to stage 2 standards, have LS6 intake, will have full equal length headers and 3" dual exhaust with X-pipe.
With cam mentioned above,is there any chance of valve clearance problems? Will the valve train components(springs/retainers) work with my stock heads& valves or will my spring seats need to be cut?
Thanks for any advice in advance,Joe

Sounds like the TR224 112lsa would be the right cam for you. It'll have good streetability, a good idle, and should easily put a 3000# stock head car into the 11s. Well that's assuming you can drive it.

BTW: do you have any pics of your car and set-up? If so please e-mail them to me if you don't mind. I've got an itch to put an LS1-T56 combo in a 70-73 F-body.

Hey, ive just got the money together to do this, but i have a ? first. I was looking at either the 224/224 112 LSA, or the 230/224 111 LSA. I have hooker Long tubes, and most of the bolt ons. Its an M6 car, and money would be tight for tuning for a while. Im going to keep the heads stock for now. I do street and strip. The car is also my daily driver. So which would be better for me, and would i see any more HP out of gettin new springs??? thanx

OK good, that's what I was hoping. Thanks for the quick reply, Jason. From what I've seen so far, you guys are running a top notch operation there at Thunder!
