I second this, or maybe another sponsor could spark our interest.

Yeah I would be in for a TR220 or a TR224 with springs, Ti retainers and hardened pushrods!

Yeah a cam package would be great. What about those that don't need the titanium retainers or springs. I already bought those off a guy locally brand new for cheap. So all I need the 224/224 114LSA cam.... GP please!!!

I have received quite a few emails today from a some people wondering how the TR cams compare to each other and how they sound at idle. Here is a dyno graph comparing the TR230/224 111, TR227/224 114, TR224/224 114 with stock heads. All three of these cams were tested in my car and the only thing changed was the cam.

Thunder Racing cam comparison

TR230/224 111 vs TR224/224 114
TR230/224 111 vs TR227/224 114

I also have a few soundclips:
TR224/224 114 through Hooker catback
TR224/224 114, cutout open

TR230/224 111 through Hooker catback
TR230/224 111, cutout open

My exhaust consists of Grotyohann 1 3/4" longtubes, FMS 3" off-road pipe, Hooker catback.

If anyone has any questions regarding these cams, feel free to email me at jason99ta@hotmail.com or jason@thunderracing.com

I'll be out of town until Wednesday evening, so there will be a delay getting a response back.

Jason

i am going to try my very best to get in on this, but one question i do have is if i can make up my own cam..

i really like the 230/224 cam, but i would reallllly like a 228/228 on a 112.. but i hear you have a special lobe, and other stuff..

is there any way i can get my cam grind custom made? or do i have to choose from the cams listed on your site?

Call Monday and speak with Paul on this. We can do custom grinds, but there would be an additional charge for this GP. We MAY have something on the shelf (sometimes we have cams that don't spec correctly for one particular lobe and may be closer to what you are looking for.) I'm not sure about this but Paul would know.

Thanks,

Angie

Angie, this is great, I will be placing my order soon . One question though, since the Comp 772 Titanium Retainers are a $100 option, shouldn't pkg #2 be just $100 more than pkg #1? Also, package #3 includes far more than #2 for less money . . . is this correct? Seems like the prices for #2 and #3 are swapped.

Ok, Here's what we can do...

Cam Pkg #1:
Your Choice of Thunder Racing Camshaft
Comp 26918 Springs
Thunder Racing Pushrods
$569.99

Cam Pkg #2:
Your Choice of Thunder Racing Camshaft

Cam Pkg #3:

REV TR9814 Titanium Retainers
REV SC221 Spring Seats
Valve Stem Seals
$679.99

ok just to make sure, the comp 918s will work with my stock retainers and locks right? I should really be getting the titanium retainers at this price but the punishment from the wife will be easier to take w/o em

cam pkg #1 and thunder p#111-10-LS (basic cam swap gaskets) is all I'll need to get the job done...correct?

the slips and dynos are greatly appreciated, you're really takin care of us!

count me in guys/gals
