Default FINALLY!!!!! 09 Challenger SRT8 M6 and my 99 SS M6

The other night i was in the Bay Area and it was really late at night in Walnut Creek. I happened to drive by Jack in the Box and see a new orange Challenger SRT8 and i think, 'sweet! I finally get to race one'. So i waited, and waited, and waited (i really wanted to see one of these things go) and eventually the guy pulled out and got on the road, then tried to avoid me a little bit. anyway, we got on the freeway and hit a couple punches. The first time i came up behind him and got next to him, then from about 60 to 120 i won, but only by inches, literally inches. Then we hit it again at about 70 and got all the way up to 135 and i had to shut down because thats pushin it a little. We were even the whole way on that time, until he pulled at the very end!!! The top end on the Challenger really suprised me. I have raced and beaten SRT8 chargers, but those are heavier and only automatics. Definately made my day, especially because earlier that day i wanted to go test drive an RT 6speed, but the dealer wanted me to sit for about 40 mins and wait for a credit check just to drive it.

Seeing your basically stock thats pretty sad...Newer technology and its just hanging w/ ls1's. Those are too heavy.

I am so tired of hearing that excuse... just take the loss and be done with it. Good loss OP, that's about what I would have expected with your few choice mods.

Nice runs. I don't know what 6M Challenger SRT-8s are doing in the 1/4.

The SRT-8s weigh about the same - the options and how much gas is in the tank makes any one of them equal to another.

If you are representative of "alot of people," then I'm ok with that.

yea i am, and im sure if i had the time i could find 25 threads where you come in and add some cute little comment like that and you have gotten the same response from all the other guys here.

**** i know personally you've done it more than 5 times in threads i've been in or started.

thats enough for me to say something back now.

and i dont care if when you were first looking for a car you thought about an f-body, fact is you didnt buy one so why are you even here? i'm sure there is another 50 Honda and Mustang forums who would love to have your expert opinions.

psst...i've never owned or thought about owning one. Do I need to leave? I just respect them and ls1tech has one of if not the best street racing sections.

But, I would sport a ws6 or SS m6, but mach 1 first. LOL

I have to agree with irun...the same old boring lame responses from BOTH/ALL sides get to be quite annoying. I get tired of hearing how LS's aren't crap over on teh stang boards. respect should be on both sides, IMO.

The only people that ever really make comments about me being here are the ones that aren't really welcome here themselves.

I've raced the SRT8 Challenger in the 1/8th drag... and they lose pretty much like the Wustang GTs and the Ricers, just not as bad.

big differ. between 1/8 and 1/4. Not all cars show their stuff in the first half of 1320.

its not an excuse. sounds to me it was pretty close race. good loss, i agree, but truthfully, its still pretty lame that these cars are just now hanging with the LS1's.

Well....oh yeah.....machs have 60 less CI and still 'hang'...whatcha say about that...and they're only one year newer than the last LS fbod.

IRUN's point is these petty arguments are immature. We like certain cars for our own reasons..no need to go petty.
