I know the Viper has a 10 cylinder, 8.2 liter power plant pushing 600 ponies, but, I've never read anything which shows it loading over 1g in a turn, and I can't recall the precise numbers, but I don't think it's got the grippers to brake with the ZR-1... nor do I have any recollection of the Viper rolling 0-60 under 3.3...
No disrespect intended but you're the first person I've seen who sets the Viper over the ZR-1... and while that doesn't mean it's not true... given that they've run the Vette against some of the fastest production super cars in the world... it's just REAL odd that no one bothered to go find a Viper to match it up... unless Chrysler just wants to avoid the whole thing.
If I were Chrysler and it's hot ticket would best the ZR-1... given their present financial condition, it's hard to imagine that they wouldn't be encouraging all the rags to get that test DOWN... with tons of video to boot.
But, if you produce the data and it shows the viper pushing >1.1g laterals and shoving itself down the road at over 205 after hitting 60 in under 3.3 seconds... well then I'll humbly concede... But I think you're screwed...
DARN! I didn't want this to get ugly...

The ACR Viper beat the ZR1 around the Nuburgring by ~4 seconds.

I'd say this will be similar to the old SR71...
For two decades the SR71 held world airspeed records... the Soviets would work and work and finally fly out and tweak across the old record and we'd send up the SR 71 again and push the throttle a notch closer to the wall... where upon she'd idle back to earth and wait for the Soviets to struggle past their inherent limitations...
If I were them I wouldn't bother boxing that Viper up for a trip home, quite yet.

Nordschleife track times (production cars only): http://fastestlaps.com/track2.html
This is a really good site if you're curious about track times. They're pretty acurate and keep a close watch on time changes.

The GTR was built to offer Porsche Turbo performance and daily livability at a lower price. Thats why they always compare it to Porsche's numbers and laptimes, and why Porsche called them out on it. In all the spy shots of the GTR I saw during its development, I saw plenty of 911's taggin along, but never a Z06. If they had brought one, their car might be better...

put it this way, power to weight ratios: a 436hp vette plus intake... let's give it 20 more hp = 3200/456 = 7.02 lbs for every hp
600 rwhp GT500 = 4000/600 = 6.67 lbs for every hp.
This is assuming the worst for the GT500's weight, and the best for the vette's power. It's also using crank hp for the vette and rwhp for the Cobra. The cobra still comes out ahead. The GT500 was not faster at low speed, the vette was faster all the way through the race. Aero plays a factor, but if aero were to blame, the vette would've come back by later in the race instead of pulling all along.
I'm just saying something doesn't add up here. Either that vette is making significantly more power than they would have us believe, or the GT500 is making significantly less.
Same deal with the Cobra. There is a reasonable excuse for the Cobra though. He may not have been spraying.

an LS3 with an intake and a tune is a pretty bad *** car. Easily capable of 118-120mph traps.
That Cobra ran the **** away from that GTR. Stop trying to act like that Vette was anything near that Cobra. Looked like the Cobra either spun bad or the driver muffed something up on the 2nd run.
The only time that Vette pulled hard was top end. Looked to be the top of
3rd and into 4th. Vette barely pulled a car and a half. The Cobra pulled immediately and continued to pull raping, freight trains of ******* ownage.

Also, after reading some of these replies, there are quite a few tards that need to be dealt with. Drama queens always flapping their fat vagina lips.
