OMG I just read 8 pages of this ****. Damn Pony , Sarge, Jay, Unit and all the rest of the level headed LS-1 guys just concede that all Mustangs are slow, all the drivers are tools, and we could never beat a bolt on LS1 for christ sake.

My LS1 went 11.59 with essentially the same power and 60' as the Cobra.
It's irrelevant what you've heard, what you've seen on the internet, etc.
Real world experience with 100's of LS1's and 100's of Cobras that I have
personally been involved with paint the true picture. The short story is
that you have very little experience with fast cars...or none at all. Your 12
second car doesn't make you an expert. It just makes you look foolish
when you shoot your mouth off.
This is a tech site first and foremost. Post facts, not your childish opinions.

This should just be dropped.
Unless people ignore 99 or he's banned, he's just going to continue posting foolish stuff like this.
Just let it go, this isn't exactly a tech section so there are bound to be childish, uneducated posts.
You're not going to teach 'them' or change 'their' views no matter what you say.
I think this thread more or less shows that.
I hope your post Unit was more of a warning then a rant...
I'd like to see more nutswingers and ignorant posters get warned or sent on vacations.
I think it helped me be more level headed on here.

anyways, (coming from fbody guy), cobras are sick as hell. and judging from what all the cobra guys have said, looks like the fbodys dont stand a chance. i back the cobra up 100%. full bolt on ls1 cant hang with pullied cobra. you will spend more money on the bolt ons for the ls1 than you will the pully for the cobra. and in the end, THE COBRA WILL BE FASTER!!! no matter what. hope this ends this thread.

Lol, sorry if what I said was misleading. I don't think anyone should be banned for their opinions, even if they are full of **** (not referring to this OP, just in general), when it comes to this particular section. But we all know when we hear bullshit and as I said earlier, just because something happens doesn't mean it always will. There are flukes, good days/bad days, beat-up vehicles, bald tires, good drivers/bad drivers, and everything in between.
Is it possible for a bolt on LS1 to take a pullied cobra? Sure it is! Is it likely? Not from what I know (which isn't a lot, but enough). I do know that the driver mod counts for a lot and if I was the driver of the cobra (having never drove a rwd perfomance vehicle with irs) I probably would have lost too!
But that doesn't mean the cobra can't do better, and that also doesn't mean that there are not bolt-on LS1s out there that are simply power houses and with good traction, from a dig, and a decent driver, anything can happen. But this by no means coincides with the law of averages. So in a nutshell, if I have a bolt on LS1, can I take on pullied cobras all day? NO! Maybe can't even take a stock one depending on the above mentioned circumstances.
