05 GTO vs 08 CLS 63 AMG
I own the 05 GTO and little brother owns the 08 AMG (listed at 507 hp ).
Both on street tires and from a 30 MPH roll. Even through 2nd gear (for me 2nd as I have a 6 speed don't know what gear his was as it's a 7 speed Auto) catch 3rd (tire scratch and all - Love it with TC off!) and that damn 4 door starts to pull HARD! By the time I'm in 4th he's solidly ahead by a 1 - 1.5 cars. Gap didn't get any bigger nor do I close it any. Ran it back a couple more times, exact same results.
Felt pretty good with the results since we both know that damn Benz HAD to be faster than the GTO (in stock configuration). I mean, whatever combination of gearing they used in the tranny & rear, AMG got it perfect! That damn 4 door pulls like a freight train when you step on the loud pedal (and the trip-tronic shifting is fun!) I wouldn't of paid 100 Large plus luxury tax (neither did my brother) but it's a nice *** car none the less.
I have Long Tubes, Under Drive Pulley, Cam-Pushrods-Springs I plan to install during the week. After the install and a tune, the re-match shall commence. I'm fairly certain that the car positioning should be swapped

The 7 speed tranny with the 1:1 at 5th gear definitely helps, but the gearing isn't really stunning:
1st, 4.38
2nd, 2.86
3rd, 1.92
4th, 1.37
5th, 1.00
6th, 0.82
7th, 0.73
I've thought the AMG mercedes' were pretty amazing since 03 with the release of the E55 AMG.
That's a pretty cool car your bro has, same goes for you...

I don't know if you've ever driven/rode in that CLS 63. If you haven't, first chance you get jump at it. That motor/car is truly impressive. Not 100 large impressive (I don't think a car has ever been produced I'd spend more then 45K on) but worth what he paid for it.
I got a cam package from TSP 226/228 578/581 (i think, don't have the paper in front of me) with a 114 + 2 LSA. Got coated PaceSetter 2nd Gen long tubes and mid pipe with a SLP Underdrive pulley.
Should be enough to even out the power equation. Looking to get close to 400 to the wheels which is a bit less then the CLS63 but the CLS is about 4 - 500 pounds heavier.
Thanks everyone for the replies
