barely beat a trans am.
what does manual and nitrous have to do with anything...of course no nitrous...and yes a manual.
2v in the twelves has tune, cai, flowmaster with a 4.10 and some drag radials and he ran 12.9 at almost 107
still leaves longtubes, pullies, throttle body, plenum, driveshaft, etc.

wait a sec, where am i, for a sec i thouhgt i was on ls1tech (a GM form) i think i stumbled into a mustang form because of all the mustang ppl on here lol. do i need to go over to a mustang form to be around other fbody ppl or what, im confused.
You left a lot to be desired in your original post stating that he has "nowhere near full bolt ons" leading most people to beleive an intake/exhaust only car. I don't consider a 4.10 gear a bolt on and you didnt answer my question about serious weight reduction. (tubular k member, gutted interior, aluminum drivetrain parts).
and i'm not trying to mislead anybody...what i said was correct...he isn't anywhere near full bolt on's...being that he does't have pullies, longtubes, plenum, throttlebody, driveshaft, etc
OP, you should be easily in the 12's if you ran 13.2 with a 2.2 60 foot...get it down to 1.8 or 1.9 and you got twelves no problem at all
nope none of that...i didn't list it so it doesn't have it...i consider a gear a bolt on...just my opinion though

Was on my way to my dads this afternoon when what looked like a 2000 or newer trans am tried to pass me. I have been itching for a race for several weeks now and decided to see if he would play, so i down shifted and hammered it to keep him from passing. I slowed back down to the speed limit and he paced me for a little while before i signaled for me to roll my window down. He asked me to slow down to 45 50 mph. He waited till i jumped ( i am guessing he thought he was fixing to embarrass another mustang was the reason). by the end of 3rd i had 3/4ths of a length on him and it stayed that way through the top of 4th gear where i let out. i was very impressed and happy with the results. I dunno if he had any modds done to his car or not but from my experience with other slightly modded TAs im guessing he was bone stock because the ones that were slightly modded killed me. My modds consist of 75mm throttle body, bbk cai, bbk longtube headers, straight pipe through flows, tk 500 tranny with short thro shift, 4.10 gears, tons of other undercarrage modifications. oh yeah, i have smaller underdrive pulleys as well. But anyway back to the story. When i let out the TA kept going. I finally catch back up to him to give him the thumbs up but the guy wouldnt look at me. I just dont get it. i hear about TAs killing mustangs all the time, and always looking for one that can run with them but when a TA finally finds a mustang he cant just absolutely murder he wont give me the thumbs up i felt i deserved. because it was a very very close freakin race.
Sucks that he was a sore loser. There is always something faster... You dont have to be a dick. I always give the thumbs up win or lose. Sounds like you got a nice stang. I used to have a 99 GT 5 Speed and it was a pretty fun car.
What you feel is right, NA 2v's are weak on the top end and always will be without some form of power adder, that's why I added a 125 shot on my 2v and it turned into a completely different animal. 11.81 @ 118 in the 1/4. Save yourself the misery and do like I did then go kick some ***.

yeah, its a lot of fun. even though its a gt i still turn a lot of heads with it. i would love to have one of the gt500s to build up.
I have 114,000 miles on mine have been on the bottle for over 2 years. Nitrous is fairly safe when used properly. I run colder heat range spark plugs with a tune specifically for nitrous and never larger than 125 wet shot using the Nitrous Express plate system.
Longtubes + Plenum + throttle body + Nitrous + 3.73 gears= Top end monster.
i will definately consider the nitrous. but dunno if i will run a 125 shot tho. prolly the highest i will go is 100
