hold up. wait a minute. where in the world did i say a gto couldnt beat me. **** i havent beat a gto yet. i remember saying i have a couple buddies in town that both drive some badass gtos. if 24 with a wife and daughter is considered to be a kid, then im guilty, i am still a kid.
Hate to say it my *** Carl.
TY for the props man.
alot of money is an understatement....ROFL.
KB's make kits for the 2V's. IDK about whipple, even thought hey are a 10 minute drive from my work. ROFL.
You're looking at a good $10k MINIMUM to do it right. But, I agree, gotta have goals.

For the $10K investment in a 2V, you might as well just do an entire Terminator engine/trans swap. You can get them for $6-8K used, so it might actually come out to about the same. And then at least you have a fully forged 4V motor.
that was my mess up bigjeep. i guess i misunderstood who you were referring to. I know of one gto that might give the guy a run for his money but since i dunno his hp guess i really cant say. Once the gto is up and running it is suppose to be able to push 1200 rwhp on full out race tune.
i still wont know exact numbers on hp or track times but i have a race setup with a guy in town that has a 99 gt that runs 12.80s in the quarter. so i will find out this coming weekend just how strong my car really is i guess.
I'm sure weighing will be 'close', but that depends on what one thinks is close. Personally, I would look into a swap and do a stage 4 port.
Racing a guy on the street that has ran a 12.8x has NOTHING to do with what your car runs. That is RICER talk/mentality. That won't go very long around here.
LOOK, I've said it before, I'll say it again, GET A CUSTOM TUNE for YOUR car and THEN take it to the track.
Different strokes for different folks?....and that $10k was for forged shortblock and KB setup. A 6-8k cobra setup wont' have a KB, and there is still labor involved with a swap. Possible ECU change, different/more tuning, etc.

You have alot to learn....Honest.

If he doesn't change soon...I'll be awaiting a thread titled...."I was racing this guy with a buslength lead but something went wrong. My ford shop guy says it should only need a flux capacitor, but I don't know it. It was great cause I was ahead and he has a 12.7 car so I know I have a 12.5 car before I blew the motor not taking good advice from people that have been there. Now I can't make it to work on Monday."

It was a nonEXT 5.3.
