Default Got my first race with the CL600...against an 04 GT

I'll start off by saying this was a buddy of mine that raced me out of the kindness of his heart. I kept bitching that nobody would race my car, so he said he would. We both knew I would win...but wow, had no idea by how much. Both races were from a dig with the patented 3 honk tree. And sorry this is kind of a boring story - but I was just so excited that I finally got to line up against something that I had to share.

The first time I bought the car up to 1900 rpm and let 'er rip. I managed to roast the tires and so he got the jump. I wound up running him down and beating him by a few car lengths. Now, I guess he didn't realize that I had spun, he thought my car was just a dog off the line; so he wanted to run again.

So, when we line up the second time I brought the car up to 1700 rpm and actually got a great launch. Just a little tire chirp, then the turbos spooled and I was gone. Jumped a couple car lengths quickly and I had about 4 busses on him by the 1/8 and it just got worse from there.

I did kinda hurt his feelings at the end, tho. He and two of his buddies were standing around and he asked if I was happy I beat a Mustang...and I replied (without thinking) Eh, not really, my other car is a Formula, so I kinda used to that by now.

For those who will be wondering:

My car: 03 CL600, 4250lbs, 493hp and 580lb, 5 spd auto (stock not counting the window tint)

His car: 04 Mustang GT, FIPK, Cat back, Hypertech, auto - so I'm guessing around 300hp?

Good race, the first kill is always fun!

Not sure why you would think he would gain 40 hp from three very minor mods. A real tune might give him a decent bump, but that Hypertech tune probably isn't worth much. With the auto he probably makes 220ish to the ground stock and maybe 235 with the mods.

He has a few other knick-knacks, but I didn't take the time to find out what. Anyway, if everything goes right I will be going to the local 1/4 mile track tonight, so I'll race my most worthy opponent there...ME...lol.
