Default My WS6 VS. 09 G8 GXP

Rolled up on an 09 G8 GXP that still had dealer tags lol... It was damn good looking and the dude driving was pretty cool. We messed around for about a mile, then he got beside me. I was wanting him to honk, but he didn't, at about 60 he just took off, so I hammered it. My bumper was at his front wheel well, by the time I reacted, and we stayed locked their until slowly (and I mean very slowly) at 130 (I think) I was gaining probably about an inch every 2 seconds... Let off after that.

Those things run damn good. I would call it dead *** even.

Good race! I haven't run across one yet but I'd like to run one in my G8 GT and see how hard it pulls on me.

I contemplated trading mine in for one, but I figure I can spend the money and make mine faster for less than the difference. Either way, they are badass cars!

I love those things if I had the money I would get one before Pontiac goes belly up. I'm supprised it can stay with an F-body. Educate a Ford guy please what is the difference between a GXP and GT G8?

Someone correct me if I'm wrong but G8 GT has a 6.0 L76 motor that makes 361hp/385tq at the crank. G8 GXP gets 6.2 LS3 with 415/415.

Just checked...it has an optional M6, but an A6 is still standard. Also, it has a 3.27 rear, where the GT has a 2.92

Tire diameter and trans ratios probably make it more agressive than you would think.

Here is the ratio comparison for the A6 vs our A4:

1st - 4.03 / 3.06
2nd - 2.36 / 1.63
3rd - 1.53 / 1.0
4th - 1.15 / .7
5th - .85 / na
6th - .67 / na

If you put the math to it, you'll see that a G8 GXP with a 3.27 rear gear is actually "lower" than an A4 F-body with 3.73's.

Not the six speed GXP it has a 3.70 gear. I just picked up a liquid red A6 last Sat. and I love the car best GM has built (At least by the Aussies) that is why the must stop making them. Also I would think the GXP is much stronger than a stock F-body if there are any left. It feels relly quick and with the A6 there is no dead spot.
