Default Dude, it was a porsche!

I raced a porsche last night on the highway. Once to about 90. And then once up to 120.

Absolutely smoked him both times.

I know, I know, it was a boxter, but for ****'s sake it was a $50,000 car!

I was next to him at a stoplight, and we were both in the turn lane on to the hightway. We got out and I started stabbing the throttle a little, but he didn't look too interested. The first time he hit it, he got almost 3 car lengths on me right off. He caught me off guard, I didn't think he'd actually race! But by the time I was through 3rd, I already was ahead by a car. There was some traffic so we had to brake.

Then, we both got a clear lane and we hit it again. At about 120 I had 5+ car lengths on him.

He got off at the next exit

Yes, this was by far the best kill I've actually had. Sure, those sport bikes put up a much better fight, but this was a PORSCHE! I wish I was in the car with him to see his reaction. I wish I was at the dealership today to see him come in bitching about what's wrong with his car! I know I would be if I was a middle aged guy with too much money, a small wein, and just got my *** handed to me by some stupid kid in a Z28

Hopefully he knew it was slow when he bought it, and just bought it for the quality and handling.

He probably just bought it for the porsche name. Nice kill.

Can't knock the Boxsters. Slow but sweet.
Congrats on the kill.

I agree.

A boxster does not have fast acceleration in a straight line at all. It was not built to do that. Try taking one on a very windy road. Im sure, if the guy knows how to drive, the outcome will be very different. And the interior is a lot nicer. Nice kill though

Super Mario, now you know why I was looking for it!

He was about 50, I don't think he'd be much of a driver in the twisties either.

It runs around a 14 sec 1/4, and that isn't slow compared to 99% of the vehicles on the road.

And he had to think it was at least somewhat fast, because he wanted to hit it again after I clearly had him beat the first run.

But it was fun nonetheless. Makes for a good story, no?

I hardly ever see porsche's around here, and yesterday I saw two. The first one I saw was yellow driven by a guy in his 30's, he wouldn't go even though we had a perfectly clear highway. I eventually got bored with him, and tried to get a 350z to race, again, no dice. Got lucky with the white porsche later on that night though, so all in all it was a good day for racing.

i think boxsters are ugly and slow, but I like porsches. A z28 is a much better value though obviously. I've only been in a few porsches, a 911 and a 928, I can only imagine what a new 911 feels like, probably worth the money regardless of quarter ets.

Your right. It was built to be cheap, slow, and nice looking so that all the women in the workforce across america had a car they could buy and feel rich, while also supporting Porsche financially so they could keep producing GT2s...

boxters are homo. its all about the 911 turbo and GT2. but good kill though. a guy in a boxter is about as bad as a guy in a bug.

haha, my roomate has a bug. he claims he has 40 HP. Sounds pretty bad though ***(if thats possible) and we actually got a rev from some guys in a late 80's early 90's cavelier. Then in ricer fashion, they sped up and weaved in and out of cars. In HEAVY traffic no less.

Oh yeah, and remember, the 911 isnt that different from a bug. After all, the first 911's were somewhat based off the bug.(I think)
