oh ok, thanks for the info, so judging by that facts it's almost impossible for a bolt ons 96 gt (the one that op raced) to hang with (let alone beat) an ls1 fbody right?

Never heard or seen of a 2v make 280 with bolt ons. When mine was full bolt ons, no cats, and of coarse tuned and only made 271rwhp. Most make in the 260s with heads/cams getting 300ish. The 2v are basically a joke na and usually a waste of time and money without fi.

Not a chance in hell a non PI car with stock heads and intake would do 260 with bolt ons ( unless you consider an S trim a bolt on, lol)

Id like to see it too.

Exactly.

I DON'T have a link but since you said you would take hearsay here it is. A buddy of mine in Hawaii had a 98 GT. He made 271 with FULL bolt ons- LT's, O/R X, Magnapacs, RWTD tune, JLT RAI, UDP, 3.90's- he had also just changed all the fluids, cleaned the Air Filter and changed the plugs- not sure if that had anything to do with it. It was relatively cool too- about 85 degrees or so- low humidity..... and yes, we were all pretty surprised- but this was on a dyno day 3 years ago on Fathers day. I'll dig around and see if I still have the clip.

With all of these freakishly high bolt on numbers some of you guys are sounding alot like the ls1 crowd and their "freak" ls1s. Sure one can make alittle over the next but you guys are way above anything normal.

I can't remember even seeing or hearing about one at 275 much less the numbers we're hearing now. Perhaps these were on friendly dynos

**EDIT**
He also had 30# injectors, upgraded MAF and throttle body, as well as an electric water pump.

Like I said none of us expected that at all.

I dyno'd on the same day @ 298 RWHP and 311 RWTQ with Bassani O/R X-pipe, Cherry bomb mufflers, K&N FIPK, SCT livewire with Amazon Tune.

Those had to be STD or self corrected numbers, and/or an uncaliberated Dyno.

Come on man..you know me....well, you know what I mean. I call it like I see it regardless, and that is just BS. those dyno days are typically out to get customers....high dyno numbers = more customers. NOt saying all shops do this, but they are factors for some.

The mere fact that your 02 GT put down what a mach does with those mods should tell you something. IN fact, those are good numbers even for a Mach with those mods. Let's at least TRY to think realistically here.

I realize this but i dont think he should have pulled the way he did.i mean we were door to door in first and second and when he hits third he just pulls off.kinnda wierd.ive ridden in a couple bolt on mach 1s and my bro used to have a 98 cobra with cai and 3.73's and mustangs just dont pull that hard above 100mph like he did.theres no way he wasnt spraying or was bsing about being non p.i.i figured he would have the advantage in first and second then i would make up some groud in third ands fourth but that car didnt really seem to wake up until third
