So about a week and a half ago I was heading back home down I-55 when i came up to an M3 on my right. I was just admiring it as it's a beautiful car. The guy looks over at me and gives me the
look. All of a sudden he downshifts and takes off, i follow suit and do the same. He was about 2 lenths in front before I'm done downshifting. I start to gain on him then do a nice steady walk. Shut it down at about 120 and was a good 4-5 lenths in front of him. At first I thought he wasn't trying or that he may have had 5 dead hookers crammed in his trunk as i thought those M3's were supposed to be quick. So we cool it down to about 60mph and he all of a sudden downshifts and goes again. i'm already in gear and react when he's got a lenth on me. Basically the same thing as before. I steady walked him and put about 4-5 lenths in front by about 120mph. I give him the wave, no reaction. We slow it down and my off ramp is coming up so I get in the right to turn off and as he passes I give him the thumbs up and I get absolutely no reaction besides a downshift flyby. I guess those bimmer guys are just to proud.![Rolleyes](https://ls1tech.com/forums/images/smilies/LS1Tech/rolleyes.gif)
Guy was about my age (25-30) and the m3 looked quite stock. I have Exhaust, HFC's, CAI, and no tune at that time. Makes me wonder how many legnths I could have put on him if I was in my WS6

maybe since he started out ahead, he thought you were doing the flybys.......jk
good kills in that heavy pig
btw have you ran both your cars at the track? I'd venture they're prolly pretty close in performance

370 Z is believable, your g37 ehhh i dout it since your about 600lbs heavier..
Maybe it was a 330 with m badges
Cause you would of gotten smoked bro
M3's are beasts on the highway and run very close with ls1 camaros and transams and i dout your g37 will run with them on the highway...
I think they guy wasnt pushing it or it wasnt a real M3

i remeber for 05 the z was the lightest, the sedan 100lbs heavier and the coupe g 100lbs heavier then that.
i know the 370z is fast, the g37 is ok but not m3 fast...
I like G's, heres a pic of my 6mt sedan (had it before the v)
But without boost they are not fast

E46 M3 is geared perfect for highway..i don't see how your G37 could pull 4 cars out of him

G37 is about 3700lbs(tiss true, it is a heavy pig), but keep in mind I think the guys m3 was most likely stock and not the new v8 version. The v6 that was used up to 2006 produced around 333hp and ran 13.3's. The new v8 M3 is mid 12's and 400+ hp. I previously shopped for 06 M3's and this was surely that or at least within that generation. Same front fescia, fender grill's, and exhaust. If it was from a dig I bet he would get off the line, but I think I could probably catch him considering I walked him between 60-120mph. My car dynoed at 308hp to the wheels before the tune. I have no reason to lie, I've lost before to a TBSS by about 3 lenths. It was my neighbors and he had Exhaust and intake done.

A E46 body style M3 weighs 3053lbs (very light) , and they dyno about 280 to the wheels and have a awsome power band reving up to 8k.
You would have a good close race with a m3, but you would not catch it 2 cars ahead of you and then pull 4 5 cars ......

My bad, it is an I6, not a V6 as I previously stated.

I'm finding that the weight of an E46 M3 is in the neighborhood of 3415. My G37 is probably just north of the 6mt spec of 3662lbs givin my options. He could have had some dead hookers in the trunk too pushing the weight above 3800lbs
.
It could have been a fake, but I don't know if anyone would go through the hassle of replacing the front fascia, fenders, m3 exhaust, rims and rear bumper to name a few. It could have been a bad driver. All I know is I went twice against him, I probably had a good 30whp on him, and the car appeared to be an M3 unmodded that trailed me 4-5 car lengths until I let off at 120mph.
My bad, it is an I6, not a V6 as I previously stated.

The faster you go the less weight matters and the more actual power matters. The m3 is only maybe 300lbs lighter then the G and given the Gs power advantage it SHOULD walk a stock m3 from a roll. From a dig it might be a different story, but from a 60 roll logic says the G would pull.
30hp extra might balance out the wieght differance if anything..
If you look at the dyno sheet of a m3 it makes much better power through the entire rpm range, it starts to make nasty power at around 6k and it revs till 8k
while if you see the dyno of a G it climbs slow and doesnt peak till just before redline ....
g37 is not slow , it would be a awsome race but from the story pulling a total of 6-7 cars total is
![turd](https://ls1tech.com/forums/images/smilies2/turd.gif)
Sounds to me like the m3 let off and didnt push the car while you did a ricer fly by, or it was a 328 with m bumper and badges....
BTW : i hope no one thinks im a BMW fan, I think they are overpriced piles of garbage to be honest..
