So I get back from Tucson, and cruise through the park to see if some of the fast cars are out. I see nothing nice out, but I do spot a friend I haven't seen for a while. I park, and start talking to him and his friends. Some VW jetta or something (newer style...2.0T? Boost yes, not sure what motor) is hauling ***, hissing his stock bypass, thinking he is the ****. I don't think any of it, and my friend asks me for a ride.

We roll out, and low and behold...guess who comes flying up behind me. We turn onto the major road, and I just chill in first gear, about 3k, waiting for him. He gets about a car ahead of me, and I think he hit it...couldn't tell. I drop the hammer, and pull 1.5-2 cars in first, and it just gets nasty by the time I let off at the top of 3rd. A few buses, but hard to tell. I don't understand the mentality of those who think just because their car is turbo'd...its fast.

How bad does DA of say....7k or so (4600 elevation, add in other factors...I'll find the actual DA later) effect my N/A car vs a boosted car? I know I am effected worse, but I am just wondering.

Wow it must but VW owners that do this lol. The town we hangout in just got new red light camera's. About a week ago I pulled into the parking lot after i got something to drink and i see a group of ppl. around this VW revving and this crap S10 kinda loud doing what looked to be a burnout trying to show off or something. So i was like oh you ladies wanna hear loud . I hit the pedal and spun the tires over alittle, i parked and see the VW and the S10 pulling out and just giving it hell on the road infront of me (i guess showing me what they had)......5 sec's later i see a bright flash then a 2nd bright flash at the stoplight........I dunno what exactly they had, but i know what each of them are getting in the mail a $100 ticket hahahahaha.

Believe me when I tell you that a turbo 4 cylinder feels fast as hell when the turbo hits because its so slow to begin with.

ha, thats how my stock 85 lebaron gts was, when the turbo hit it felt like a different car. not to mention nothing makes you feel faster than a digital dash.

slow cars think they are fast because of who they hang out with.....If a whole bunch of ricers are hanging out and there is a turbo eclipse there then he swears he has the fastest car on earth because he can beat the guy with a 3 foot high wing on a hand me down car from his sister.

I am sure the powerband makes the car feel fast....but damn, do they live in a alternate universe or something? News flash....13 seconds is not fast. Hell, IMO, 11's aren't anymore. Maybe for a DD, but truely "fast" or "quick" cars are 9.99 at 130+ or faster. I want my DD to trap 120+...with A/C and cruise. Then, its a pretty fast street car. IMO anyway.

i know what you mean.. it never fails anywhere i go there is always some idiot ricer revin at me and tryin to race and evrytime i muder them.. but they keep comin back! Dumb asses lol

i really hate to admit this, but sadly i used to be a ricer. i had a 95 eclipse gst and thought it was fast until it only ran like 16's, and i really knew it was slow when my buddies escort beat it. in my defense, i was 19 and knew NOTHING about cars. then i got into a 95 mustang gt thought that was fast, until it only ran 14's. then i got smart, bought a ls1, and joined ls1tech.com to edumacate myself. hoping to get mid 11's at about 120 after my h/c/i

I find there are a few ricers and slow guys that are stupid enough to actually think they can beat a V8 car with a blower. Mine is obviously blown (loud blower whine) but some just get on it next to you so they can watch you get on your car, basically give them a show.
