09 G8GT vs 95 Viper rt/10
Comin home from harrisburg the afternoon after an amazing bachelor party and end up behind this silver viper rt/10. Played for a little while traffic was medium and then finally got the chance to open up. He lead us into a long curve on the TP at around 70mph. I kept pace behind him until the the road straightened out then we both hit it. He grabbed a car/car.5 and then at the top of my 3rd I started to pull????? Closed the gap and got him to about half a car by 130. I could tell by the loud *** exhaust he didn't let off though. So my guess is he definitely started at too high of an rpm and had to shift quick; and he either missed 4th and went to 6th or purposely went from 3rd to 5th, or 2nd to 5th, 2nd to 4th. Not claiming a kill here, just want some insight.

Might want to check your numbers venom. And re-read the op. I was in my g8. 15+ year old 405 hp viper is no where near the "deep 12s" and I said there was probably a shifting issue because of how quick the pull reversed. I ended up a half car ahead friend from the middle east.

Take a deep breath. First, stop getting 1/4 times from ******' wiki, that page encompasses 93-98 vipers. Which is basically like 13.0s to 12.1s during those model years, I was referring to 93-95 range. Second, realize that from the very beginning I never said "I beat a viper". I merely wanted some insight and all you're doing is doubting the race even happened and telling me I would never keep up with a viper. Trust me I have way more important things to do than come on here and brag about races that didn't happen. I would never give someone a fly-by and then come on here and claim it was a race. Me and this viper were playing for like 40 miles before it opened up enough to really go at it. He was racing. I remember when this section was full of people that knew a lot about cars, and not just idiot know-it-all's that know nothing.

yea....
so once again just so i understand what you are telling me. a 450hp 3200-3300lb viper and you in a 360hp 3800-4000lb g8 had a race... and you are stating that you hung with him and began to pull at the top of 3rd gear.....and wonder if this was a legit race?
because i must not be smoking the same good stuff you are if you dont see a tiny flaw in any of that.
so if i posted that i ran a 400hp c5 z06 with my 400hp cts-v and i posted that i began to pull on him.... it would be just as absurd.

The first-generation model (1992-1995) produced 400 hp. That's to the crank. ~350 to the wheels. I'm at 330rwhp, better gearing, and not 15 years old. Stop, just stop.

Definitely go for it if you can. You can get a sick deal on one if you really look. And modding them is so rewarding because of the gains of just minor bolt-ons. Can't complain with runnin 12s in a G8 with just like 600$ for an intake and tune. Get real crazy and buy a v6 and do an LS7 swap for almost the price of a new G8GT

Good run. Whatever happened, he's either pissed at his driving or confused right now, lol.
From what I found (not much to find without going on Viper specific forums I guess) they trapped in the 110-111 range in those years.

One thing for certain.. Who ever you raced is telling their friends YOU had nitrous or a supercharger. We all know anything happens on the street. But Just cause its 15 years old doesn't mean much. Most vipers have real low miles on them. When I was looking for one( any year) most had really really low miles.
I can believe hanging with one below 80 mph, but anything over that he shoulda pulled away.
