Hummvee vs 1986 VW Passat (Iraq) No sh*t there I was...
A couple days ago our platoon was doing a TCP (traffic control point, think sobriety checkpoint except we look for rocket launchers instead of tanked drivers, though there are plenty of those!) and we see a 86 orange/white taxicab turn around and try to head in the other direction.
And so the chase was on...
Opponent Number 1: 1987 AM General HMMWV (M997 - Antitank Variant)
Mods: Open Y-pipe (Muffler torn off hitting some railroad tracks)
Lowered Suspension (Shocks blown after vehicle drove from Kuwait severely overloaded, about 5 in fender clearance, very chique
6.1 L V8 diesel engine, new, after blowing 2 others in country
Improved Thermal Acquistion System (ITAS)
.50 cal machine gun with 1200 rounds
"Tweaked" front suspension, hence the trucks name "Wobblin' Goblin"
7700lb race weight
Opponent Number 2: 1986 Brazilian VW Passat
Mods: Prayer-carpet interior
Christmas lights
Custom (ie brush and latex) orange-white color scheme
Bumper sticker "I LOVE YOU FOREVER"
!Headlight
!Rear Bumper
Tuning by the local Imam
2300lb race weight
And oh yeah....15lbs of TNT and a large sum of cash
Rolled up on him blacked out doing about 70, he sees us and floors it, and puts about 10 car lengths on us, doesnt look like we're gonna get him, and then he hits some railroad tracks and the two front tires literally fall off....by the time we get to them they're pretty dazed...flexcuffed em, threw em in back, and took em to the cage.
Anyways when Im not doing this Im back in the states punishing my 99 WS6. Hello to everyone back home, and just thought I let you know how we do street racing over here in Iraq. : )

ROTFL ... excellent story. I loved the mod list ... especially the suspension, muffler on the hummer, and the !bumper and !headlight on the other car ... funny stuff.
Btw, I think I am going to put 2 machine guns in the front of my car. Have the tip of the barrels come out under the orange running lights on each side of the front bumper .... now THAT would be hot.
